--> Europa-List message posted by: "Peter Davis" <pm.davis@ntlworld.com> Hi Bob, I really appreciate and applaud the idea of weekday fly-ins but have not registered interest yet as I am not sure how much use a hundred replies would be saying "Sorry, can't make it", or "from where I sit, the weather will be agin me". I agree that in this climate (or is it weather we get in UK) only very short notice can be given for this sort of social, but is still very worth while - even if only two or three people can turn up. After all, we have the 'freebies' and if we can meet up with others it enhances the day. Anyway, I am one that would like to be involved but today's weather at Oxford was not nice and I am in France on Friday, so apologies in advance for not being at Sherburn then. I agree - the weather on Friday does look promising. I will most likely be taking my 'plane off the airfield at the end of the November for a few months so won't be 'in the frame' until March-ish, but just thought I would pen this note to the Site as a vote of support for the idea. Regards, Peter mailto:pm.davis@ntlworld.com This message has been scanned by Norton Internet Security for all known viruses. -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of R.C.Harrison Subject: Europa-List: UK weekday Fly In /Voucher utilisation. --> Europa-List message posted by: "R.C.Harrison" <ptag.dev@ukonline.co.uk> Hi! All. Just a line to report that only one intrepid flier(Dave Watts) and his wife navigator made it to Sandtoft today.I went, of course, and since he turned up I'm pleased I did ! Sorry about the decision to proceed but Kent to Lincolnshire was obviously flyable it was just a shame about the other directions. However it didn't look too pleasant facing Dave for the return trip, hope they made it OK? Well, Chairman Allsop, obviously Chesterfield was likewise weathered in? I regret that due to lack of numerous arrivals I forgot to hand the Organisers mantle over to another participant for next week ! So here's a suggestion .....I'll take it again! only THIS Friday looks good at present and knowing there is so many unfulfilled flyers I'm suggesting Friday at Sherburn-in-Elmet(EGCJ) because I've unused vouchers for there too ! Hopefully there will be a resonable quorum to authorise the hand over of the "organisers mantle"? BTW if it should go ahead my Son will still need collecting from North Weald at about 10.00 hours and he will have a hefty bag with him...... if no one can collect him I will probably fly down and collect him myself prior to Sherburn. So I will need to decide last thing tomorrow night since if there's no likelyhood of flying I'll need to leave here by car at 06.30 latest . ANY TAKERS ? (Of the Sherburn idea primarily!) Or am I being too presumptuous? Regards Bob Harrison G-PTAG

--> Europa-List message posted by: "R.C.Harrison" <ptag.dev@ukonline.co.uk> Hi! Peter. Thanks for the message obviously I'm unable to make a decision yet ....especially my needing to be at either Stanstead for 0900 in a car or North Weald in the plane at 0930 before leaving for Sherburn ! However my gut feeling is that I'll probably fly. The only way to ultimately be sure is for me to be able to have a 'phone contact number for me to make some preliminary soundings of "declared punters" round the country to assess and make a decision in the morning, as I have been suggesting, even if I do it whilst on the ground at North Weald! Then a quick call back as to whether the Fly In is on or not. (I've only had you register an interest yet and I need your contact number?) Although one or two did say that Friday may be best for the Santoft flights no one further has come forward yet...... Even our WDFI Chairman, Bryan Allsop is playing golf today so I've no word from him yet! On the WX question I'm amazed at the varied forecasts, I think they all dump them in a bucket and draw lots as to which they pick out there is such varitaion! However I'm wondering if when I see a front designator I don't apply enough consideration to whether it is a "weak front " or a "strong front" signified by the number of indicators on the line? Because IMHO on a number of occassions I've decided not to fly the "front" in question has been a "non event" which would have been flyable! Similarly on our long trips abroard we often have decided to "go have a look" and been able to continue to the destination. Anyway , hopefully you have "got my drift"? --> Europa-List message posted by: TELEDYNMCS@aol.com Hi Erich, I intend to put a set in my Europa, but I'm still a ways out from flight testing. However, I did put a set in my Citabria after I saw them at the Flight Crafters open house and man what a difference! They give an awesome blast of air and you can precisely regulate how much air you want. They stay put where you set them, even at 125 mph. I'd have to say that they are worth the price charged. The Europa's I saw at Flight Crafters had them installed on either side of the cockpit, just behind the panel and slightly below the fuselage seam. I've also heard that an exit vent, similar to what you might see on a boat, needs to be installed in the rear baggage bay bulkhead cover plate to allow the air to escape through the tail for maximum effectiveness. Hope it helps! Regards, John Lawton Dunlap, TN A-245 (Working on the flap actuator installation)

After perusing those you'll need to decide whether you want to proceed or not; its not for the feint hearted! If yes, then the next step would be to speak to PFA. The parts list is only that; a list. There are no parts and no address list of where to get stuff, but its not difficult to find. The one-piece gearleg is made by Luc Job in Switzerland. He can be difficult to get hold of. The terminology on the King side should be quite standard, so it's a matter of matching the obverse function on the intercom. IOW, likely only one way to skin a cat here. Regards, Fred F.
