Subject: A Special Thank You - List of Contributors
--> Europa-List message posted by: Matt Dralle <dralle@matronics.com> Dear Listers, This year's List Fund Raiser was pleasantly successful and I want to thank everyone that so generously made a Contribution to support the continued operation and upgrade of these Lists! Below you will find the complete list of this year's Contributors. Its these great guys that make it all possible! All of the List members owe these special people a debt of gratitude. I would also like to thank Andy Gold of the Builder Bookstore ( http://www.buildersbooks.com ) for again this year providing free and substantially discounted merchandise in support of the Fund Raiser. Andy is a great guy and I encourage you to check out his very nice web site. Thanks again, Andy!! For those of you that ordered gifts with your Contribution, I will be shipping these out over the next few weeks as the merchandise arrives and as I can get all of the orders processed. Its quite a job so I appreciate your patience! I hope to have everything on its way by the end of the month if not sooner. If you would still like to make a Contribution to support the Lists, please feel free to do so! If you'd like to receive one of the awesome free gifts, they will be available on the web page though the end of the month. The Contribution web page can be found here: http://www.matronics.com/contribution Finally, I would like to once again sincerely thank each and everyone of you that took the time to make a Contribution to support the Lists this year! Your kind support greatly appreciated! THANK YOU! --> Europa-List message posted by: Gerry Holland <gnholland@onetel.com> Tony Hi! The NMAE or Garmin Protocol output from 295 can do just about whatever you want. It can drive PC, MAC or PDA or indeed Display only versions of Skymap or other 'non engined' GPS. You choose your platform and you'll then find good Mapping Software available including Aeronautical mapping. Someone mentioned Memory Map. It's good. I have driven all of these from the NMAE and Garmin protocols and also used my own scanned Charts and initialised them against set Lat/Longs. The beauty of Memory map, Fugawi, OZI Explorer is that the Maps are already initialised for immediate and accurate use. So many of the new PDA's have great daylght/sunlight viewing so cost and capability can be chosen. A good Australian Company is OziExplorer. http://www.oziexplorer.com/ If you need any additional information e-mail me off line. Regards Gerry

    Subject: Auto CAD file?
--> Europa-List message posted by: "G-IANI" <g-iani@ntlworld.com> The drawing ga.dxf may have problems. I can open it with M/S Digital image pro. I cannot open it with Autocad Lite (2000) or Irfanview. Both of these report a corrupt or invalid header. This may be an "Apple" problem. If Roland has access to the original (or we can ask Roger at Europa for another copy) I will be happy to convert it to DXF and test it with a range of programs. I have the trigear version of the same drawing as a DWG (autocad format) and can turn this into a DXF if this helps. From: Tom Paul <tom@tompaul.com>
--> Europa-List message posted by: Tom Paul <tom@tompaul.com> I am in the very early stages of my europa project. I have purchased a partially-built kit and I am beginning to amass a pile of various info that needs cataloging. I thought I might design a simple filemaker pro database for this, where things are organized by category, and there is place for all relevant info and links. Then it occurred to me that someone has no doubt already done this. Yes? Are you sharing? Thanks! Tom Paul

Having suffered a bad misfire because some silicone sealant ended up blocking a jet I would say do NOT put any sealant on ANY fuel line joints past the filters, and probably anywhere ! As I was not the airframe builder I am not sure whether sealant was used, but some arrived in a jet. Richard Richard F.W. --> Europa-List message posted by: Rowland Carson <rowil@clara.net> Apologies to those who have tried to contact me (or indeed any of the Europa Club Committee) through the <europaclub.org.uk> domain addresses. In addition to the website problems which Aviators Network seem unable to resolve, the e-mail forwarding they do for us has stopped working as well. As a result of the standard of service from AvNet, we expect move to a new server & host soon, but that will depend upon AvNet releasing the tags from their DNS server in a timely fashion, as well as upon us organising a replica of the website on a new server. It is possible that the method of access for the members-only area may change, but we will try to make this as painless as possible for you all. In the meantime, ignore the e-mail address in my .sig file and use either the one on the header of this message or preferably <europa-club@rowil.clara.net> for Europa topics. regards Rowland -- | Rowland Carson Europa Club Membership Secretary | Europa 435 G-ROWI (660 hours building) PFA #16532 | e-mail <memsec@europaclub.org.uk> website <www.europaclub.org.uk>

I have also tried re-saving it from CADintosh and that creates a DXF file about twice the size. I have attached the dwg for you, if you want it in any other formats let me know and I'll see what I can do. Subject: engines? - Costs
--> Europa-List message posted by: "Europa Aircraft" <europa@gate.net> Hi All, The FWF price without the Engine is $4,500 US. We also have the engine modified, adding a ring mount - not included in the $12,000 quoted below. This adds about $1,000 after parts & labor. We then include the high torque starter, another $200. The engine with ring mount needs special crating which adds another $200. Finally, the vacuum pump drive is included, which is around $350. All our 912ULS engines also include an overload clutch - I don't know if the Canadian distributor includes them or not. Using $12,000 as a starting point, and adding the options above would take the engine alone to $13,750. After taking the FWF out, the engine would be $13,630. So the special from the Canadian distributor would cost you about $120 if all the options I mentioned above are not included for $12,000. I know that in the US it always costs less to get the engine included in the FWF kit. With the exchange rate, and import costs, I don't know about Canada. Hope this helps! Putting the 1/4" pins in I caught the edge of one of the TP12 and I fish mouthed the hole. I tapped down the fish mouth and had to drill the damaged edge out. This required the larger pins to fix my fixing. So, have you got an engine type sorted, and prop, instruments etc? I have the 912S, taking the starter and gear box off this weekend and sending to get the upgraded starter and slipper clutch installed. AirMasters is in its box. Bluemountain EFS lite and KMD 150 are ready to go....... SteveD. Trying to set the wings, outside in 30 degree weather.... good fun.... don't know if i can wait until it gets down to incident of 2.5 degrees out, I'll freeze! ; )

--> Europa-List message posted by: "Kevin Klinefelter" <kevann@gte.net> Tony, With your tailplanes installed grab em at the trailing edges and try to move them opposite each other up & down. Mine (pre-skinned XS) had some slop so I went for the mod., before the top went on. Had holes enlarged on a friends machine for a no more slop very nice fit. Kevin Airframe done except for wing root fairings. Lots of finish work, panel, electrical and 914 plumbing to go -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of ScramIt@aol.com Subject: Re: Europa-List: T. This modification replaces the 1/4=E2=80=9D diameter pins with 3/8=E2=80=9D diameter pins." Wear has nothing to do with me.
