Dear Paul,
We have available a Manifold Pressure plumbing kit of parts that includes a steel
bulkhead fitting as well as all of the other parts that are necessary. Take
a look at Tech talk in Newsletter 37 page 13 for an illustration and description.
The price is in the Catalogue.
Happy New Year

Hi all,
I need a couple of recommendations:
What is the best type of hose to use to come from the engine to the manifold pressure
gauge. I need something that can handle the cowl temperatures.
How have people been penetrating the firewall with the manifold pressure hose.
I could machine up a fitting but I'd rather not spend a couple of hours on the
lathe if there is a better way.
I need to fit a 5/8" hose from the vacuum pump to the firewall. I see AC Spruce
have a silicon hose good to 350 degrees but it looks bulky, Id be interested
in knowing what others have used.
Thanks, Paul

Wolverhampton fly-in.
Definitely not on for Thursday, so we will fall back to Friday. Friday
looks free of fronts, but I will update again tomorrow.
Regards,
William

"Electrolysis"
Because of it I had to replace my Pitch Push Rod:-
During assembly of the Rod End Fittings (Steel) to the Push Rod (Aluminum)
I made the mistake of liberally coating the inside of the Push Rod tube with
a water based metal primer paint, I did not allow it to dry before
assembling and riveting the end fittings in place, thinking this would
really seal it up, it did!!
Within 18 months corrosion was evident on the outside of the tube. Upon
removal and cutting open with a hacksaw found severe internal corrosion from
electrolytical action due to the fact that the paint had never dried.

Peter

Dear Paul and Andy,
What is going wrong by Europa Management?
I ordered repeatedly the manifold pressure gauge kit since 21th of july with
other items. The day after Christmas I received half of the items I ordered
except the MPG with a small piece of paper telling me that this item is
still to deliver. Let us be honest in business and if you may have a reason
please let us know why we have to wait half a year for items you present in
your catalogue.

Andy,
Thanks for letting me know, I saw it in the tech notes and promptly forgot
(over 40 syndrome). I called the Lakeland office and they have shipped one
out to me tonight.
Cheers, Paul

Hi all,
I have an EIS 2000 which has a coolant sensor input. I received the coolant sensor
from Grand Rapids today and it fits into the airbox of the 914 just fine.
Has anyone tried this to if it works?

The forecast looks OK for Friday and then deteriorates again for the
weekend. Sorry Duncan, it will have to be tomorrow, so you will have to
take a sicky, or apply for early retirement.
Don't forget to make a PPR call to Wolverhampton before setting out on 01384
221378 and Approach on 123.00. There is a restaurant for lunch.
Best wishes and see you on Friday,
William
