--> Europa-List message posted by: "Jim Butcher" <europa@triton.net> Our experience is that the LG02 is pretty much flush with the bottom of the fuselage. If its any higher the tire will hit the brake master cylinder. Be sure to check the clearance of the tire to the master cylinder before you go about setting the flap acutation horn FL21 because any change in the LG02 position will affect the flap position (voice of experience). Neville gave us some good tips on setting FL21 but I didn't write them down. Seems like he had us reverse the procedure, ie start with flaps up and adjust the horn for flaps down position. Check with him since the book procedure didnt seem to work! Jim & Heather A185 starting smooth prime XS 914 mono short wings now

I used Christmas card photos (of which I have far too many) as a guide. I'm installing and adjusting the main gear up travel | on my XS mono-wheel. I'm wondering if the fully retracted main gear | position is with the LG02 wheel frame fairly flush with the bottom of the | fuselage, or with the main tire raised as far as it can go before | interfering with the brake mechanism -while still being able to come up | slightly to clear the lever guide when putting it back down? I haven't come | across anything more detailed than the term "fully retracted" in the manual. | Thanks in advance,| Dan Geldermann| A-139 XS Mono-Wheel | | | | | | |

--> Europa-List message posted by: "Paul McAllister" <paul.mcallister@qia.net> Dan, Mine is slightly higher than flush, however I did discover something else. I was concerned that my brake cylinder might touch the tunnel, or even get caught so I made a cut out in the tunnel to give extra clearance. After I had done that I discovered that the wheel retracted even more, the reason being was that the brake cylinder was already touching and I couldn't see it. So, with that all said, make sure you have plenty of clearance, as the cylinder will move out more as the brake pads wear down. --> Europa-List message posted by: "William Mills" <combined.merchants@virgin.net> Only two Europas made it to Wolverhampton this week. The weather was much worse than forecasted with cunimbs all over the place! Wolverhampton is now under new management and they are bending over backwards to make GA pilots welcome. The grub is very good value as well. Rick Morris has taken the batten for next week. Regards, William
