Light Aero have most of the sizes and if you only want small amounts I would
use them. If you want lots Aircraft Spruce are SO much cheaper it is worth
the 2 week wait that it takes !

Andair told me it was bigger and that they could not source the same mesh.
Rotax specify 70 micron, which is the reason they use that.

Hi All,
We now have wing tip lenses available from the US office. For now they are
just plexi only, you make the flange etc... Cost is $60 each + shipping.
They are large enough to mount landing lights, or nav lights. Delivery time
is about 2 months.
Give me a call if you want to order a set.

OK. I could be wrong on that, but it looks finer than, say, 100.
The Rotax engine manual actually specifies 100 micron as a maximum filter
size.
On hte Europa, the vapour return orifice is 75 micron (twice what Rotax
specifiy!), so coarser filters could risk blocking that orifice.
Regards,
Duncan.

Hi Brian
Try: www.killacycle.com/Lights.htm (The Lights has a capital L)
I received their LED combo kit and it is of excellent quality. I have
made my own mounts for the landing lights to go in the LED kits and I
have the lens made by Graham which are of excellent quality. They were
shipped by air from the UK for about $90 total. I have 55 watt halogen
lights from an auto supply store and a solid state wigwag flasher to
make them more visible.

Can anyone tell me which is the Port and which is the Starboard W16 brackets?
One has a flat flange side the other has a crescent shape flange side. They
both can on the same bag labeled with both part numbers. I can see now place
in the manual that describes which is which.
I also noted in figure 16 page 8-10 that it illustrates an area that must be
filed away in order for the bellcrank to pass through the pivot bolt <whatever
that is> Do they both need to be filed? The manual does not say and only
illustrates the W16 with the crescent shaped flange.
Thanks!

Moving along through chapter eight I have just completed my lateral push rod.
A test fit indicates that the thing binds in many areas. My observations are
that I would have to substantially widen the wing rib holes and even then I
expect the push rod to be directly against the spar with unacceptable or no
clearance. Any suggested fix?
Thanks

--> Europa-List message posted by: "Rob Housman" <robh@hyperion-ef.com>
I had almost exactly the same experience, and my wings were among the first
XS wings shipped. However, my push rods did clear the spars without any
modifications. I had assumed that the factory would have figured out by now
that they put most of the holes in the wrong places. Apparently not. If it
were only a problem with clearance in the holes I'd simply open the holes (I
left a minimum of about 1/4 inch clearance), but in your case I'd recommend
getting the factory's opinion on clearing the spar.
Quite a while ago on this forum there was a thread about how far the wings
deflected under a load of several g, and (if I remember correctly) the
deflection could be as much as 18 inches at the tip and still be within
design limits. That was probably for a far greater g load than most of us
will ever experience, however. Even considerably lighter loads could
deflect the wing enough to cause the push rods to rub inside the clearance
holes, so it seems that the factory expects there to be some rubbing under
load.
Best regards,

One of mine was similar to what you describe. I moved the bellcrank away
from the spar by a couple mm by making a plate of alum for the bracket
assembly, drilled for the four bolts. I drilled lightening holes in the
plate also. I suppose you could use washers. Ask the factory.
Kevin, still filling and sanding...

Hello Brian

I had same problem. I E-Mailed Neville and he said to make spacers out of
aluminium Alloy. I ended making some spacers out of G-9 to elevate so bellcrank
would not allow the lateral pushrod to hit spar. I only needed to space one of
the wings.
I enlarged holes as needed in ribs to gain acceptable clearance. there are a few
areas where if pushrod begins harmonics may touch ribs. i have some thin wall
teflon heat shrink (www.mcmaster.com) that i may put on pushrod in areas I think
may touch.
Good luck

Brian,
Make both W16's the same as shown in the book, note they are opposite hand.
When you attach
them to the spar it will be obvious which goes where. Look at page 14-6,
Fig 3 for the mating parts,
CS15P and CS15S. The way this all works will fall into place when you do
the actual assembly and
mating of the W16 and CS15 parts. There are illustrations pn pages 14-13
nad 14-14 that will help make
it clear.
Here is another tip that will save you work. When making the CS14 parts do
not bother painting the
inside surface because you will have to sand it off after you bond the
cockpit module to the canoe.

Don't think it will be flying yet but you can count me in. Others should
consider as this is some of the most beatiful country in the US. Maybe I'll
tow A258 there. We'll see.
