--> Europa-List message posted by: Paul Stewart <europa@pstewart.f2s.com> Sounds like a stupid question but how do I go about attaching the shield of shielded wire (mags) to ground - I'm thinking a metal cable clamp over the braid connected to ground or does one stuff the braid into a crip terminal? --> Europa-List message posted by: "R.C.Harrison" <ptag.dev@ukonline.co.uk> Hi! Paul If you carefully pull a hole in the braid cover with a pointed tool (without stabbing the insulation below) you can then pull a loop of the centre core, including it's isulation, through the hole. This now leaves you with a "tail " of the shield to make a connection to to take to the common ground you have for other ground connections. In my case it is advised to only ground one end and that is to the engine. BTW It's not a stupid question just a "wrinkle" that you collect on the route of life's rich tapestry, never be afraid to ask. --> Europa-List message posted by: "William Mills" <combined.merchants@virgin.net> Lighter winds tomorrow (Saturday) so I suggest Fenland for noon. Hope one or two others can make it - only two at Old Sarum - Rick Morris and me, plus Brian Tarmar who is still building. Very enjoyable company and a nice lunch. Best wishes, William (Do not archive)
