--> Europa-List message posted by: <beecho@beecho.org> Hi Erich Did you mount the inertial reels on the same anchor point that the Europa harnesses use? How much did they cost. I couldn't find a price list. Thanks Tom Friedland A 079 N96V XS mono Jabiru/Airmaster -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Erich Trombley Subject: Europa-List: Seatbelts - AFSAFE --> Europa-List message posted by: Erich Trombley <erichdtrombley@juno.com> Sorry to take sooooo long getting back to everyone on the part numbers for the AMSAFE seat-belts I am using on my bird. They are a four point harness with inertial reels part number 4038. They can be found at: http://www.amsafe.com/images/pdfs/4pointcatalog.pdf see page 52. I am very pleased with the units, especially the inertial reels. They are so comfortable and allow one to move forward and aft without having to constantly adjust the vertical straps. An added benefit is that since the vertical straps are on reels there is no tendency for these straps to cause the lap belt to "ride" up on ones belly which I have found to be the case with supplied Europa belts. It seems with the Europa belts that no matter how tight the lap belt is as soon as you adjust the vertical straps to be snug, then the lap belt starts to "ride up" on the body. As you know the lap belts need to remain low and tight around the waist. With the AMSAFE this is never a concern. Regards, Erich Trombley N28ET Classic Monowheel 914. == == == ==

--> Europa-List message posted by: DuaneFamly@aol.com Hello all, I was wondering....has anyone had to trim down the length of their tie-bar in order to make it fit? Mine is a bit too long without the W34's! Just want to make sure before I make a cut, for a change. Thanks in advance. I cut mine within about 1/8" of what I measured, then fitted it by slowly shaving the end on my disk sander. The really hard part about the tiebar, at least as far as I was concerned (3 tries to get it right) was drilling the gusset plates. I would suggest that you obtain a 12" long, 3/16" bit. It makes the drilling a whole lot easier, especially on the gas tank filler side. McMaster-Carr has just what you need for about $6. Thanks to Neville for that tip! I told him to watch out for "sink" on the approach but what he didn't understand was that I was talking about the kitchen sink I have in the workshop which he ultimately almost ended up sitting in!! It all seems so funny now. Kingsley

--> Europa-List message posted by: DuaneFamly@aol.com Thanks John, I went to the Forum to check out the problems that other people have had and saw all the ways people drilled their holes. I'll spend tomorrow rereading those messages and figuring out how I want to do it. I already have a 12" drill bit the would work so my options are open. Subject: Six Nations Tour - 1st May to 8th May 2004
--> Europa-List message posted by: "William Mills" <combined.merchants@virgin.net> Dear All, I have volunteered to plan a trip round a few of the countries in Europe during the first week in May. (1st to 8th) My initial thoughts are to visit France, Switzerland, Northern Italy, Austria, Czech Republic and Home through Germany. If we are unlucky with the weather we will divert to wherever it is flyable (as we did in 2002). If any of our Continental Europa Friends would like to join in they will be most welcome. We shall not book any hotels ahead so as to leave us totally flexible. In the past we have never been stuck for accommodation. Anybody interested in participating, please drop me a line with your details to combined.merchants@virgin.net or phone on 01495785499. Best wishes, William
