--> Europa-List message posted by: "William Mills" <combined.merchants@virgin.net> Hi Duncan, The inversion was generally no more than 2,000 ft and the cloud was either broken or scattered all the way, so I flew VMC at 3,000 in crystal clear air and in sight of the ground, although murky, all the way. Best wishes, William (Do not archive) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ami McFadyean" <ami@mcfadyean.freeserve.co.uk> Subject: Re: Europa-List: Drop of a Hat Fly-ins - Fenland > --> Europa-List message posted by: "Ami McFadyean" <ami@mcfadyean.freeserve.co.uk> > > It was the weather that stunk! > > Duncan McF. > > Do not archive. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "William Mills" <combined.merchants@virgin.net> > To: <europa-list@matronics.com> > Subject: Re: Europa-List: Drop of a Hat Fly-ins - Fenland > > > > --> Europa-List message posted by: "William Mills" > <combined.merchants@virgin.net> > > > > Only one made it to Fenland!! They can be downloaded from the FAA website. If you have trouble finding them or downloading them, let me know and I can e-mail copies of them to you. --> Europa-List message posted by: "Ami McFadyean" <ami@mcfadyean.freeserve.co.uk> I think the Liberty have solved this issue by (from what I can see from the photos) raising the height of the 'headrest'. But then it has a higher roof line too, and raising the headrests would not interfere so much with loading baggage, as it would on the homebuilt version. Still can't see why the exiting headrest could not be extended with a stout triangulated pylon over which the shoulder harness could be routed. I suppose the whole lot would then need load testing, but I'm not offering mine for this!! Exactly, I had 3 wedge fractures in my lower back, also a torn diaphragm. Any more G and the straps would have killed me! Fortunately the paramedic chopper was already airborne and 10 minutes away so I got to the table within the hour. Most bits they glued back on work again, {;-) Also fortunately Ivan designed just enough strength in the airplane to keep the G within that narrow band that made an unsurviveable accident surviveable. Graham,
