Gidday,
For a conventional taildragger I can easily get Michelin Condors delivered
to my house within a few days. Any of the other tyres may take a while, and
I am keen to get a set sooner rather than later. Any impressions on rubber
for conventionals/tri mains?
Also, I reckon 4 ply with a lower psi of only 30 vs 6 ply and 50, with a
specific wheel load of 800lbs per wheel vs 1285, is the better option, if
for no other reason than it is easier to get 30 psi out of a foot/hand
pump. So, does anyone reckon 30psi/800 lb wheel loads is inadaquate.

Unfortunately it will be impossible to balance out the yaw induced by the
blade. Won't matter at 39,000 but at a more efficient 1800 rpm the
vibration would be awful.
Even two blade props can't be balanced for the yaw, it has to be three or
more.

Anyone know what the difference is between the eyeball vents sold by
aircraft spruce? They have two aliminium swivel vents one at $55.50 (pn
05-00779) and the other at $172.95! (pn 13-03600). Unfortunately there
is only a picture of the cheaper one on their web site.

Actually, I run mine at 20 to 25 PSI. More than that and they tend to bounce
to easily; less than that and they start to creep on the rims. Mine are
el-cheapo Airtracs, which are just starting to wear slightly more on the
outside (due to camber) than the inside; time to turn them over. This is
after 170 hours and about the same number of landings, of which approx 60%
on tarmac and 40% on grass.
Prognosis would therefore be in excess of 600 hours/set, providing the
casing doesn't go first.

Subject: | Request: Information for Kitplanes Article (Interiors/Exteriors) |
--> Europa-List message posted by: "Cory Emberson" <bootless@earthlink.net>
Hello Europa builders and pilots!
First, thank you for your wonderful response to my request for examples of terrific
panels - I expect that a Europa will be included in the June 2004 issue.
I am writing another article for Kitplanes magazine that will feature builders
who have distinctive interiors and/or exteriors.
My deadline is rather short, so if you could email me as soon as possible, hopefully
by Tuesday, that will give me enough time to put it together.
Here are some of the criteria I'm looking for:
Interiors that are (one or any combination):
1. creative
2. inexpensive
3. very comfortable
4. lightweight
5. generally cool and different
6. distinctive in some way.
Exteriors that are:
1.. stunningly attractive
2.. original design
3.. historically accurate
4.. distinctive in some way
Other things to keep in mind:
1. How you came to design your interior/exterior (How you got your idea)
2. The reasons why you did it as you did
3. What benefits you had in mind
4. Any unexpected benefits (and/or pitfalls) there were
5. What you learned
6. How many hours you've flown with it (if completed)
7. How much of the work did you do yourself?
8. Did you have any professional assistance? How much?
9. The equipment and tools you used
10. How much time it took to build and install
11. The cost of building it.
12. Would you do it again the same way? Why?
Here are the photo requirements for Kitplanes: Photos must be 300 dpi at a size
large enough to use in the magazine, which is usually at least 3 x 3 inches.
If an image is 300 dpi at 1 x 1 inch, it won't be big enough to do any good. Hard
copy photos are good, too.
Thanks so much - I really appreciate your help!
best regards,
Cory Emberson

Subject: | Wing root layups |
--> Europa-List message posted by: ScramIt@aol.com
Well, while reviewing the photos in the gallery, I noticed that others' wing
root lay-ups are much larger than mine. (My wife thought that last line was
hilarious) Then I reviewed what I had done. It would appear that once I removed
the peel-ply, I got locked in to thinking that was the size of the lay-up.
Look at the attached photos. Do I need to extend my reinforcements?
Remember you have to be logged in to view attachments. I'm working on
changing that.

Hi Paul,
I believe one is plastic and the other is aluminum. Bought them
both and never installed the plastic ones. I used the Van's NACA ramp to
feed the 1" eye ball and it provides lots of air.

I just installed the cheaper one in the top of the left footwell as the first building
block in my cabin heat supply. It is black anodized aluminum and it seems
to be fine. It provides full control from open to close and swivels. I don't
understand why any of these things cost more than 10 dollars.
