Going to go to home depot today and get fancy blue corrugated electrical conduit. I noticed that Wile E used regular thin wall PVC. Any particular reason that you used the corrugated stuff? Looks like you are using 1/2 size and terminating the ends with the cap fittings for the tubing? How are you attaching the conduit to the through ribs or are you? Redux? Bid and epoxy? I also noted the nifty wood brackets around the inspection plate. Scrap from the supplied 1/8 ply with bid? Also you have chosen to epoxy the pitot line into the bracket rather than just coming out of the conduit. My guess it to prevent entanglement of the bellcrank. If I understood an earlier email the you are going to attach this conduit to the floor of the wing with Redux to prevent flopping around. From the photos the conduit appears to be well above the floor. Is this still going to be done? ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 12:31:29 PM PST US From: "Europa Aircraft" Subject: Europa-List: All Europa Mods & Service Bulletins on the internet tests=DATE_IN_FUTURE_03_06 --> Europa-List message posted by: "Europa Aircraft" Hi All, I still get a lot of requests for information about mods & service bulletins. They are all posted on the Builder Support section of the Europa web site. See: http://www.europa-aircraft.com/Builder%20Support/newsupport.htm Happy Building & Flying! Originally it was set up using two "Mono" brake levers, but that didn't provide enough leverage. Now it has a trigear -foot-pedal level (not straight) on the end of the straight mono levers. It works well enough, but takes quite a big pull. As the platform inside was set up for the mono levers the two bolts joining the levels together are above the top of the console. I am planning to use the Mod 65 dual master cylinder and have had permission now to combine my original mod platform with the mod 65 master cylinders. The levers for that will be an experiment when I see what I get when I buy them ! I can measure it all up for you if you want. Richard Richard F.W. The pads as usual are showing some wear and I will replace them no problem. However, I have noticed on this and previous occasions that the pads wear more heavily at the outer edge due, no doubt, to the fact that about 30% of the piston area does not bear on the LG23 pressure plate. This causes the piston to skew and apply uneven pressure to the plate and pad. Coincidently, I have just read Peter Waughs article in the March 2004 Europa Flyer and saw a reference to brake shims. I have not seen any reference to such items before and I am wondering if these are intended to fix the uneven wear problem. Could somebody please explain what these 'brake shims' are ?? I used the same tubing, anchoring it with tie wraps attached to the wing panel via Click Bond tie-wrap bases. You can order these and lots of other Click Bond products from the fine folks at http://www.theflightshop.com. For the (sad) details on my skills in doing same, allow me to refer you to http://home.comcast.net/~damnyankees/Wingpage.htm; the relevant section is about halfway down the page. I hope this helps.
