Hi Eric,
I figured out the cable number but cannot locate the cable fitting you
mentioned. I would like to do what you have done if I can when the time
comes.

After much work in the "boat" I've finally reached the point where the top has
to go on. Plan on setting tomorrow AM. I decided to use the self tapping screws
instead of cleco's or pop rivets to make sure there is no distorting of the
sides. Placing approx every 10 inches if that holds all together. Will be nice
to have a little more room in the workspace. Fuel lines all run to back of the
boat, fuel pump installed, drains installed, ELT,Transponder antenna installed
and RG cable for the Comm antenna run. Flap motor installed and working mass
balance set with the top already made and installed to redux in (thanks Steve
for the pic's)...seems all is ready.

As for the EFIS - mine is doing great, the latest version (2.16 release)

I have started testing the two autopilot axes as well.

I screwed up on using the spell check. I was referring to "flow rate" as
you probably expected. I do not have the specks as to the head pressure
that rate was measured at. I do know that at takeoff I am using over 6 Gal
per hour at 3 psi. (looks like I missed on the rate too, oops , sorry about
that)
I am envious of your Highway In The Sky. I did not get that on my Dynon D10
(It is good in what it does though).

Guys,
One thing to keep in mind is that the return flow on a 914 is very high
compared to a 912. I have to go back to my measurements but I seem to
recall that it was around 47 gallons per hour with two pumps on. I have not
flown mine yet but I have run it up into full boost for 2 minutes without
fuel starvation, however I only have a single gascolator.
Interestingly enough after about 1.5 hours of engine running my gascolaor
picked up a huge amount of debris, which I cleaned out. Since then I have
completely drained, refilled and drained the tank through a filler and the
gascolaor and I haven't found any more debris in the filler

Hi All and Svein expressly!
My top is today finally bonded on
and wanna share my experiences:
- it took Redux 3 x 105 g (75+30) = 315 g
- about 50 g was wiped off
- it took 20 clecos and about 100 pcs of self-tapping screws
- three man
- 3 hours (1 for preparation, 1 for bonding and 1 for finishing)
- starting temparature was 16,0C and humidity 53%
- after all 24,7C and 32%, stable
- levelling spar pins and torque tube 0,00 degrees
- levelling fin by plumb line exactly 90 degrees
- after all my wife thought we deserved one bottle of
Laurent Perrier brut and so it was my first Europa champagne
The most important thing: few days ago Svein from Oslo
recommend me to install plywood block between lower
fuselage sides just front of torque tube to prevent TT binding.
I noticed that without this block TT comes very easy stiff
when top is on.
I am very grateful for Svein from this golden advice and
will recommed it for everybody. Stiff TT is not very sexy.
This evening was a milestone for me.

Hello,
My name is Matt Carpenter and I live in Amarillo, Texas.
3 of us purchased the Europa XS A138 Tri-gear from Bill Richards who lives
in NH.
We have been flying it for 9 or so months.
Bill Richards built it, then decided he needed a 4 seat airplane.
I have been reading the archives for 6 - 8 months now, and decided it was
time to join.
I have one big question:
The engine is the Rotax 914 S Turbo. The manual says it should hold 35
inches of MP up to 16,000 MSL.
But, I have noticed that at 9,500 MSL the MP is down to 30 - 29 inches.
At 11,500 MSL the MP is down to 27 - 28 inches.
Currently I am getting around 130 - 131 knots true airspeed. If I could
keep the MP up then the true airspeed should increase at the higher
altitude.
I have a few ideas about it.. 1. Not enough fuel pressure (although there
is no engine roughness - no change when I turn on the aux pump)
2. Waste gate not fully closing (the engine was
prepared by Rotax for an airport at 300 MSL, I am at 3,650 MSL)
3. Engine needs "re-tuned" for higher
elevation.
Any ideas, would be great.
Thanks,
Matt Carpenter

Thanks to those who have responded to my recent
pleas for outstanding Europa Club subscriptions.
I'm sad to say there's still a long list of folk
who haven't renewed, and it appears below!
If don't hear from these people by 1st June,
their membership will lapse and they won't
receive the June issue of the Europa Flyer. This
is not meant to shame people into paying up, just
to jog your memory again - I know we're all very
busy people. The names are in alphabetical order
by surname for easy reference.
If your name is on the list, and you have decided
NOT to renew, I'd appreciate a quick note to
<memsec@europaclub.org.uk> saying so. (It will
save me the work, and the Club the cost, of
writing a letter to you later.) And, it would
help the Club to serve its members better if you
could say why you prefer not to continue in
membership. F'rinstance: epoxy allergy stopped
building, lost medical stopped flying,
aircraft/kit sold, Europa Club didn't offer what
I wanted (which was .....) etc, etc.

Hi All,
When Trutrak presented the Digitrak at Oshkosh 2002 I was with the
subscribers because at that moment the cockpit module laid upside down and
it was easy to fix the mounting plate under the starboard seat and to fix
the lever at the aileron torque tube.
Now the french inspector found that this is a modification of the original
Europa they accepted as kitplane. What is the difference between a
modification and an equipement?
The Digitrak isn't TSOD and so far has no reference technical code (JAR) and
therefore can't be accepted as stated in their aircraft modification form.
My question to every lucky pilot flying with the Digitrak or Navaid is where
can I get an approval?
How is the PFA handling this problem?
Any answer is welcome.

On a case-by-case basis. Meaning that when one unit has been installed in
the first aircraft and approved, all other units that are installed to other
aircraft in the same way will be approved automatically (subject to
satisfactory inspection etc).

Matt,
A couple of things can cause this. The easy thing is to check the waste
gate setting to make sure that it is fully closed at idle. It is probably a
good idea to check the throttle calibration, depending on the model 914 you
have you can either connect it directly to your PC or you will need to get a
hold of an adapter. Once you have it connected to your PC you can do some
in-flight checks to make sure that your air box temperatures are not too
high, if they are your TCU will automatically reduce the amount of boost
available. The only fix to this problem is an intercooler. Europa has a
kit available for this.

mm and if it doesn't sit dwon nicley then put some in between.
