the only reason I am going is in the hope of meeting you again! (and a few
other folks too!) Guess I'll have to see you at Oskosh instead. Not this
year though, I'm going to Rough River instead with Paul McA for the canard
gathering. Back to the roots of the Europa story.

Hi,
I tried to measure the cruise speed improvement in my 912 Classic
monowheel as accurately as possible, after fitting of the outrigger and
tail wheel fairings.
I made several runs on a triangular course, at different power settings,
and worked out TAS by trigonometry. My measured speed improvement was
certainly less than 5 knots.

We have the XS mono wheel with a 914. After installing the speed fairings we picked
up 2 or 3 knots at best.
I thank that maby the tri -gear may show more improvement than the mono-wheel
What about it, tri gear owners??????????

All
I don't have the numbers, but the wheel pants sure do make a difference. I
will post some number next week when I do some tests with and with out them.
(weather permitting) The weather is doing its usual thing up here in the
Pacific Northwest. Rain !!!

Looks like I will be bonding the top on N914XL this Monday, 31 May 2004.

That's very interesting. Without being explicit in my last posting,
these are exactly the numbers I saw with my technique.
