The intention with a NACA duct is to get as much air as possible by creating as
little drag as possible, by shaping the intake so, that the air goes into a divergent
duct converting some of the dynamic pressure to static pressure- in accordance
with the priniples of our old friend Bernoille....
Difficult to believe it will be as efficient in reverse...but it should give some
vacuum and would keep the rain from pouring in......
Alex #529-on hold awaiting time to build....

NACA is a high speed low drag type opening. Exhaust is not high speed thus
no need for NACA and its complexity and added weight.

Dear fellow Europeans !
After having crossed the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific
Ocean in my quest to circumnavigate the world in a
westerly direction - I am now getting ready to fly
N81EU from Central Asia to Germany.
Plans are to leave on a commercial airliner from my new
home - Los Angeles - tonight and reactivate the plane
in Ulan Bataar before flying her across the endless
steppes of Central Asia some time towards the end of
next week.
Please follow the events on my website:
www.thomas.scherer.com
Right after recovering from the parties in Bonn,
Germany, I hope to do the Atlantic ocean one more time
and be in the US in time for Oshkosh 2004.
I would love to hear from folks on the way - or who
might want to join in across the Atlantic.
Happy Landings !
<Thomas Scherer, N81EU>

Good luck Thomas. It was interesting to view your aircraft when I was in
Ulan Bataar last year. Pity we did'nt get to fly. Giving 24 hours notice to
ATC is a pain!.

Hi Tony,
Since I am building my mono XS as a conventional gear I may have the parts
your friend needs. The only item from the undercarriage I used is the mount in
order to have something to hang the engine on.
I have no idea what the parts go for but I also would like cash for my panel.
Any idea what you think would be reasonable so your friend thinks he got a
great deal and I would feel like a winner with a new panel thingy?
Let me know what comes of this.

CM & rudder pedals with cables installed. Tailwheel complete. Wing pins and
tie bar installed. Working on baggage bay. Conventional gear being assembled
now.
Waiting thirteen weeks now for Mod 68 Flap Actuator to ship.

Dear Thomas,
Glad to hear your going to bring N81EU home. Sorry I may not get to greet
you at Oshkosh this time around but God's Speed on a safe continuation of
your great adventure!
