In particular the following report could shed some light on the actual working of this type of inlet. Especially about what it can do and what it can't. http://naca.larc.nasa.gov/reports/1951/naca-tn-2323/ Concerning the fuselage outlet I would consider a louvre opening in an area of low pressure (high airflow speed). One should avoid air leaks perpendicular to the airflow. I would like to remind you folks that the tiniest gain on drag pays dividends in cruise speed and climb rate.
