The net benefit to the headache of reading polices is seeing where the
truth will set you free. She's likely excluded from homeowner's coverage,
and your auto collision/comprehensive insurance probably covers only
the trailer itself plus a pittance for transported property nor will uninsured
motorist cover it. For what little hull coverage costs for other than "in-flight
damage," you're also covered on an airport ramp for freak storms, jet blast
or airport ground vehicles with no witnesses, or whacked by a taxiing,
uninsured pilot with empty pockets.
One "excluding in flight" insurer (preferable) doesn't terminate the
coverage until you apply takeoff power for that purpose and restarts it
exiting the rwy under control after landing, so you're covered at all other
times while taxiing. But others may simply exclude you from all "in motion,"
so you're bare on the trailered aircraft and taxiing, whereas one insurer
calls trailered aircraft "in motion" only if a glider. Pop another Tylenol...

I crashed on the way to the airport, the trailer hitch came loose and a lamp
post left a huge dent in the left wingroot of my 601 HDS. In addition the
rear fuselage was bent (taildragger) and had to be replaced from the back of
the baggage compartment to the tail.
I finished flying off my 40 hours on Tuesday. On Saterday night a drunk
driver, running from the cops rammed my plane and 4 others.
The insurance co paid for both. Thank Heaven!!!

Whose insurance paid up? Yours, the drunks (unlikely!) or even the police
(for chasing him/her).

Hello!
I'm writing an article for Kitplanes magazine about financing for
homebuilts. Has anyone had any experience in financing your Europa (or other plane
that you've built), and would you care to share that experience? Also, if
you've had the experience of financing an already-completed homebuilt, I would
love to hear from you as well.
Thanks so much! If you care to contact me off-list, my email address is
cory@lightspeededit.com. My "list" email address is bootless@earthlink.net.
Best,
Cory Emberson
