Joe,
You might also tell them that the motorgliders have air brake cables that
route under the seat backs.

the Rospeller prop was mentioned on this thread. I've looked at it quite
closely and really think its a good prop. However, it is not full
feathering for the motorglider (goes to about 20 deg) and is not well
supported in the US.

Hi All,
Apart from Europa office has anyone found a cheaper supplier of the above brake
pads for the Matco brakes ? There are some in the ACS catalog but no details
are given about size etc. But the price looks right, a complete set for $21 ?

For this reason (adjustable height of the seats) I asked Oregon Aero to
produce the seats for my XS in a way that I can exchange the bottom
cushions of the pilot and the copilot side against each other. This
should give me the possiblility to use bottom cushions of different
thickness for people of different size. This means also that the back
cushions should "sit" on the seat structure and not on the bottom
cushions as they usually do.
By the way: I made CAD-drawings (dwg-files) of the seat structure of my
Europa XS to give all the important measurements to Oregon Aero. I had
put the drawings in the EuropaOwners Website (josok and SteveD), but the
dwg-files have been removed by the forum administrator. If anyone is
interested in a copy of these files, contact me off-forum.

Joe,
In addition to the comments already made by Jeff (Rocketman) and Ferg
Kyle, for Monos especially, the height of the seat is important.
Therefore, Oregon Aero might like to take into consideration the need to
be able to adjust the height for people of different statures.
Consequently, it may be worth while suggesting to David Esterline
(Oregon Aero) that he checks this aspect out when he goes to Oshkosh
next month.
Thank you for making your module available.

The 2004 model R1150 RT or RS bike in the US has factory twin spark
ignition. Earlier models do not have the twin ignition. Power is up for
2004 to 98 hp. The R1100 RS and RT versions are 100 hp but the R1150 has a
wider torque curve. The following British site reps the German made
Takeoff-BMW geardrives:

Catalogue
The German site for Takeoff-BMW is:
http://www.takeoff-ul.de/Motoren/motoren.html
Motoren
On the microlight sport site, they claim a fairly complete weight with
engine, geardrive, exhaust,
airbox, and wiring about 81 kg. I have emailed Deepak at Microlight sport
and he claims with
their wiring harness that one can have an engine wired and running in an
hour (maybe on a
ultralight trike). I am considering this setup for a long postponed Avid
Catalina project.
One big issue on the beemer is the fact that the engine was designed with
the exhaust port coming out of the cylinder head on the forward side of the
bike and the intake port on the back. On a tractor configued aircraft like
the Europa, the engine is turned around with the exhaust ports to the rear.
This causes uneven cooling from the setup in the bike, causing the front
side of the cylinder to run too cool and the back side to run hot. There
also is a mandatory clutch that eliminates shaking on startup, the propeller
not starting to turn until rpms are up to 2000 RPM or so. There could be
issues with torsional resonance with the propeller, as there are only two
large pistons firing rather than four smaller ones.
The following is a list of various engines that have been tried in the
Europa, including the BMW.

Subject: | No more kit- N914PB is flying!! |
--> Europa-List message posted by: Paul Boulet <possibletodo@yahoo.com>
Hi All;
I'm proud to report that kit A212, a Mono wheel XS with 914 engine and Airmaster
prop flew into the air in Phoenix, Arizona during a sweltering 103 degrees.
N914PB has one of the first diferential fuel pressure gauges and turbo intercooler
supplied by Europa installed. They both worked very well.
Kim Prout (West Coast distributor for Europa) was at the controls and did 2 circuits
around the field. There was an 11mph crosswind which was 30 degrees off
the nose. The flight went perfectly except oil pressure was at 238 degrees and
climbing (even in throttled back, level flight) and the airspeed indicator
stuck at 55 knots. The water temperature held steady at 227 degrees.
Thanks to all that made this 3 1/2 year build project a reality. Special thanks
to Phoenix Composites that helped with so much of the build and thanks to my
wife for letting me indulge in this wonderful hobby.
