Parigoris" Subject: Europa-List: Control bushing lubrication? --> Europa-List message posted by: "Ronald J. Parigoris" What lubricant is recommended for the front and rear tufnol bushings on the control shaft? Graphite with a kerosene carrier sound OK? How often do you lube? Same question for the stabilator torque tube bushings? Thanks Ron Parigoris ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 02:59:21 AM PST US From: "Dave Cope" Subject: Europa-List: Monowheel jack / dolly. --> Europa-List message posted by: "Dave Cope" Hi, I have seen at least a couple of designs of monowheel jack / dollies which enable the fuselage to be moved etc. One of the types I am interested in was able to lever up a fully rigged monowheel untill the gear was clear of the ground, when some bolts or pins could then be used to scure the dolly to hardpoints in the fuselage. This was stable enough to allow removal of wings, and subsequent trailering. Is there anyone with a PFA (UK) approved modification for such a dolly who would be prepared to share the details with me? Thanks in advance for any help, Dave Cope #340 (building again after a couple of years off - 90% done, 50% left!) ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 07:01:37 AM PST US From: "Fergus Kyle" Subject: Re: Europa-List: Control bushing lubrication? --> Europa-List message posted by: "Fergus Kyle" Ron, Although I made provision for a lube tube into both tufnol bushings, I read an admonition to avoid petrolium based products because they tend to swell the tufnol. Can't confirm, but worth looking into. Suggest you dunk a hunk into intended grease and see what hasppens over time............. Cheers, Ferg ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ronald J. From: "SteveD" --> Europa-List message posted by: "SteveD" I finally got my wing sockets glued on. It fought me right to the end. My son and I had the wings on and off and set about 6 times during the week. On, off, perfect. I pull the wings put redux on the sockets. push the wings in, measure the angles at the door sill, .5 deg out, level across the back of the seat .8 out. So now I have to re-shim the cradle. I set the incidence 2.5 perfect. Then in the morning I found the center of the earth had moved .2 deg. Every thing is even but off by .2 deg So I have 2.7 deg angle of incidence. Had the spars flush with the seat back, pulled the wings, reinstalled. I then had a 1/16 gap at the spar bushing to seat back bushing on the port wing. WTH..... I think I'm par on this one. happily it's done, not happily done. Water tube level and 30 foot of tubing, wing tip center lines within 1/16''. Tip spar line to tail measurement within 2 mm, front jogs to tip spar line dead even. plumb bob from tip string to spar line dead on. Spar pins in a nd out by hand. @ 70% from root out on wing within .1 deg angle of attack, 60% and 80% dead on. So some good came of it. Ok now for the test part. I wrote some code that should imbed a link in the outgoing posts from forum to Matronics Europa-list. If all works correctly a link should appear below automatically. When you click it, it should bring you to this post on the EuropaForum. If you added attachments or photos you should be brought right to them. The next step is to have the link turn on and off depending on whether or not you added photos. But we'll see if this works first....... ---------------- Any Photos or attachments to this email will be located at the following link: http://forum.okhuijsen.org/viewtopic.php?p=433#433 ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 02:32:17 PM PST US From: "John & Amy Eckel" Subject: Re: Europa-List: Wings are set and a test. --> Europa-List message posted by: "John & Amy Eckel" Congrats on getting your wings set!!! I take it your plane is now in a hangar. I have not had time to put anything on the forum since you wrote to me. I have barely worked on the plane since Memorial day due to other activities. I have been riding my bike more in preparation for the long ride in Sept. Think I told you about it...200 miles to Gettysburg in 2 days. I bought a new bike, what a difference. It has been a good time for the bike shop. Amy bought a bike and today we bought a new bike for Laura I hope to get to the pictures soon and get back to work, but with the kids off for the summer that will be difficult. It's also only 2 blades AFAIK and that means yawing vibration that can't be balance out. Anyone noticed that a Rotax with 2 blades sounds a bit Lycosaurusish? Graham
