If you go to http://forum.okhuijsen.org/ and post a message under Europa-list it will be sent to the Matronics Europa-list. If you add photos and attachments to the post the links to your photos will automatically be added to the email. This eliminates uploading your photos some place, opening it your browser, getting the link, coping into your email, having the link broken because the free server only keeps the photos for so long, or the list user doesn't have access. Anyway it's done. Here's what happens when you don't pay attention to what your doing. The right size gussets remained safe and sound next to the sanded. I added reinforcements to the areas that took the abuse of removal. ---------------- This Email contains Photos or Attachments located at the following link: http://forum.okhuijsen.org/viewtopic.php?p=624#624 ---------------- Visit EuropaOwnersForum http://forum.okhuijsen.org/ ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 03:55:11 PM PST US From: "RICHARD IDDON" Subject: Europa-List: Just Testing --> Europa-List message posted by: "RICHARD IDDON" Having problems with my email so please ignore this post. Aeroquip 303 hose with 491 fittings? Any special tools needed? Or are most people using aluminum after the dual master cylinder? What size? Type of fittings? And especially between the gear leg and the wheel cylinder? I have seen only a flexible rubber. I have made my fuel lines from aluminum and have the necessary tools for that......are they same for brake line if you use small aluminum? This would be on a conventional gear but would probably be similar to a Trigear setup. Mike Duane A207 Redding, California XS Conventional Gear CM & rudder pedals with cables installed. I am just about to install my module and recognise now is the right time to apply a lubricant. My controls are relatively loose anyway, except for a small binding at "full left aileron". I understand hydrocarbon based lubricants are not ideal, but I don't know why. I think it has something to do with the potential swelling of the tufnol, but I am not certain. So, people talk about synthetic oils etc, silicone based or non-silicone. Now I know silicone near a surface to be bonded is "Bad", but I do not intend on bonding anywhere near my bearings !! So, can someone please tell me more about these lubricant options. I believe some of the pushbike lubricants may well be good, but am floundering a little on a lack of knowledge. I eventually ground a little grease groove around the inside of the tufnol bearing and installed a little tube with a Lur-Lock fitting on the end that fits the end of a syringe. I then injected a non petroleum based lubricant and can do so any time in the future. They are completely free now. (Three years later.) It seems to me that a way of getting something in there in the future is wise. It worked well and is plenty strong enough. I did not use the nylon fitting. I used brass fitting that came with my master cylinders and reservoir. Cliff Shaw 1041 Euclid ave. All but the last two items are brass fittings and check valves (req'd only to add the second set of pedals); the last two are the tubing in 6 foot lengths - best to allow extra for "experimentation" with tube bending unless you are experienced. I used a second pair of Europa supplied master cylinders (which are actually go-kart brake master cylinders) for the starboard side. P/N price ea qty req'd 4860K141 $3.60 4 9171K16 $6.83 4 46105K31 $7.00 4 5220K31 $1.13 4 52185K657 $9.50 6 5220K135 $3.47 2 5220K91 $1.34 2 8950K51 $7.37 5 89785K812 $44.24 2 The only special tool needed (all fittings are compression type, not flared) is the tubing bender (McMaster p/n 2492A12 at $28.81). It's no fun bending and installing the rigid tubing but I've had a bad experience with a plastic hydraulic clutch line in an (English made) automobile so I think it is worth the effort.
