      Hi! Paul.
The Europa issued flexible pipe for permanent immersion was yellow .
Hopefully NOT the same stuff you have used? ( yet another reason for having
an inspection hole in the tank top!

      Hi! Neville.
Not entirely correct .... the dog hairs wouldn't have caught up in the gauze
but just a few strands of lint fibres hung on the inside of the gauze
causing the medium for further straining but on the inside of the gauze. All
as per you tend to get in the kitchen plug hole, the bath or hand wash
      basin.
Good joke Neville but wouldn't have appreciated it at 2000ft if I hadn't had
two airfields to choose from when the donkey stopped.
OK, all have a laugh at my expense, no worries I've a thick skin but at
least its still unbroken! I've had some derisory remarks and accept that the
contamination shouldn't have been there so ignore my warnings and fly with a
      free conscience if you can?
Finally Neville perhaps you can explain why there is a restriction in the
damn connectors anyway since they were Europa designed?
      Regards

      Paul,

John Hurst loaned me a Long Range tank for fitting purposes. The tygon
tubing that was on it was yellow. Wicks shows "translucent yellow fuel and
      lubricant tubing", P/N F4040A.

Can you give more details on how you made the tank? I returned the one to
John as it was defective, although I bet it's still in Lakeland.

      Paul,

Tell you what, I've got a small piece of the yellow flexible hose used in
the Factory solution for this (see the Factory mod description for the name
of it) - it links the top fuel tank fitting to the Al pipe down into the
tank. It's not enough to do the job for you, but it shows you what you're
looking for. If you let me have an address for you, I'll cut a bit off and
post it to you - you can then try to match it from your suppliers over
      there.

It's certainly interesting material - I found that if you slip it over a
piece of Al pipe it will take you hours and very sore fingers to work it off
      again!

Also, I remember you're using Graham Singleton's tank fittings. How have you
got the siphon line through the top fitting? Graham's doing me a new one
with two holes through the back face - the other one for the breather line
      as currently.

Finally, in the 'interregnum' as currently, it may be possible to get one of
the LR tanks from the original manufacturer. I guess things like this will
become clear over the next few weeks.

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Jeremy

      Bob,

I think the restriction is there so that you can get from the
cross-sectional area of the fuel tank of about 4 sqft to the cross-sectional
area of the fuel line of about 0.1 sqin :-)

      Cheers,

      Paul,

I checked the Europa Long Range Tank Kit that I purchased with my kit.
The tubing provided with it is either their standard 8mm rubber fuel
line or polyurethane. The polyurethane tubing is used where the hose
is immersed in fuel the rubber fuel hose is used outside the tank. If
you would like a copy of the parts list and/or instructions, let me
know and I can scan them for you.

      I hope this helps.

Tygon is a brand name and without the numbers that follow you can not be
certain that you have a product suitable for gasoline, You want only
Tygon(r) F-4040-A for gasoline, and no other. If the stuff changes
appearance it is reacting with the fuel and you really do not want that in
      your airplane.

Go to http://www.integracompanies.com/f4040a.htm for details on the
F-4040-A, or for the full line of Tygon go to the manufacturer's home page
at http://www.tygon.com/home.asp (where you can find the same info as at the
first link listed but the "direct" URL is so long it may get corrupted with
      transmission).

| Subject: | Aluminum Vents Sale |

--> Europa-List message posted by: "Fabian Lefler" <fablef@bellsouth.net>

I am overstocked with Black Anodized Aluminum Vents, so for the month of
August, I will offer these at $199.00 with free shipping. Regular Price
      is $235.00 with a $10.00 shipping charge.

These vents are the same size as Van's plastic vents including the
mounting holes. Our black anodized vents are unique in that we made the
eyeball and mechanism of out aluminum, but the flanges are plastic so
that the corners can be rounded off, just like Van's, and not expose the
      clear aluminum.

You can see the vents here:
      http://www.affordablepanels.com/aluminum_vents_files/IM001220.JPG

You can order the vents here:
      http://www.affordablepanels.com/aluminum_vents.htm

This special is only available during this month, or until I run out of
      vents.

      Regards,

      Fabian

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it violates protocol to do commercial advertising
on this web site... at the very least it's in bad form.

      Just my 2 cents
