Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it violates protocol to do
commercial advertising on this web site... at the very least it's in bad
form.
Just my 2 cents

I am overstocked with Black Anodized Aluminum Vents, so for the month of
August, I will offer these at $199.00 with free shipping. Regular Price
is $235.00 with a $10.00 shipping charge.
These vents are the same size as Van's plastic vents including the
mounting holes. Our black anodized vents are unique in that we made the
eyeball and mechanism of out aluminum, but the flanges are plastic so
that the corners can be rounded off, just like Van's, and not expose the
clear aluminum.
You can see the vents here:
http://www.affordablepanels.com/aluminum_vents_files/IM001220.JPG
You can order the vents here:
http://www.affordablepanels.com/aluminum_vents.htm
This special is only available during this month, or until I run out of
vents.
Regards,
Fabian

Paul
I rarely get vocal about these sorts of issues, but in this case I will contribute
my thoughts. I completely agree with you and disagree with Ken. These
lists are no place for a commercial. I agree with Ken that getting information
about a possible parts source is beneficial, but I regard ANY commercial entry
to the list as SPAM. Perhaps there could be a location on the list similar
to the photo share area, where folks can place such information.

Ferg,
Not to worry. It turns out that Apple has changed the way my public
files can be accessed. I have to setup and publish a home page now.
You have provided me the impetus to set up my home page. This "should"
provide you reasonable access to those pics.
Go to http://homepage.mac.com/rlborger
At the top of this page you will see two headings: Introduction and
iDisk Public Folder (Graphite)
You are in the Introduction page.
Click on the IDisk page header and that will take you to my iDisk
Public Folder.
You will see two folders: BIG pics and small pics.
Click on the small pics folder.
You will get a list of pic files.
Click on the preview eye icon to see a preview of the pic.
Click on the download icon to download a copy of the pic.
Use the drop-down menu to go back up to the Public Folder.
The BIG pic Folder only has a single pic. It is the full sized pic of
the all the parts. It is of a resolution that will allow you to read
the individual parts numbers off the bags. You can go to this folder
and download that image as well if you wish.
I have tried this out and it seems to work.
Now I need to fix up my home page, clean up some odd and ends and see
what else I need to do before I move out and start work on the flap
drive system.
Good building and great flying,
Bob Borger

To those that were so easily offended by the posting, my apologies. To be
quite honest that posting was supposed to go to the RV-list only. It just
so happens that I didn't take the time to sort the recipients as well as I
should have.
However, let me say this... I have been in business for three years and
this is only the second posting (business related) I have placed to the
list. A commercial benefit is questionable since I am offering these at
cost, but doesn't the person who buys one benefit from the savings?
Ultimately, that is you, the builder.
Please, please ignore my previous posting.

Listers,
I encourage small business owners such as Fabian to promote their products
on the Lists. I do ask, however, that the flavor of the messages not be in
the traditional form of spam messages, but more in the context of a
personal message. Obviously, moderation is in order as well. The Lists
are a forum for all types of dialog that involve the particular List in
question. If all of the Listers on a given List were in one big room
meeting and communicating in the manner that we do on the Lists, then
people such as Fabian and myself, for that matter, would obviously be
promoting our products to anyone that would listen. In fact, we would
likely be invited to give a presentation on it to the group. The List
isn't about commercialism, but it is about sharing knowledge. This extends
to everyone, including those that provide products to the community.
Best regards,
Matt Dralle

Dear Lister,
Please read over the Europa-List Usage Guidelines below. The complete
Europa-List FAQ including these Usage Guidelines can be found at the
following URL:

Thank you,

******************************************************************************
Europa-List Usage Guidelines
******************************************************************************
The following details the official Usage Guidelines for the Europa-List.
You are encouraged to read it carefully, and to abide by the rules therein.
Failure to use the Europa-List in the manner described below may result
in the removal of the subscribers from the List.
Europa-List Policy Statement
The purpose of the Europa-List is to provide a forum of discussion for
things related to this particular discussion group. The List's goals
are to serve as an information resource to its members; to deliver
high-quality content; to provide moral support; to foster camaraderie
among its members; and to support safe operation. Reaching these goals
requires the participation and cooperation of each and every member of
the List. To this end, the following guidelines have been established:
- Please keep all posts related to the List at some level. Do not submit
posts concerning computer viruses, urban legends, random humor, long
lost buddies' phone numbers, etc. etc.
- THINK carefully before you write. Ask yourself if your post will be
relevant to everyone. If you have to wonder about that, DON'T send it.
- Remember that your post will be included for posterity in an archive
that is growing in size at an extraordinary rate. Try to be concise and
terse in your posts. Avoid overly wordy and lengthy posts and
responses.
- Keep your signature brief. Please include your name, email address,
aircraft type/tail number, and geographic location. A short line
about where you are in the building process is also nice. Avoid
bulky signatures with character graphics; they consume unnecessary
space in the archive.
- DON'T post requests to the List for information when that info is
easily obtainable from other widely available sources. Consult the
web page or FAQ first.
- If you want to respond to a post, DO keep the "Subject:" line of
your response the same as that of the original post. This makes it
easy to find threads in the archive.
- When responding, NEVER quote the *entire* original post in your
response. DO use lines from the original post to help "tune in" the
reader to the topic at hand, but be selective. The impact that
quoting the entire original post has on the size of the archive
can not be overstated!
- When the poster asks you to respond to him/her personally, DO NOT
then go ahead and reply to the List. Be aware that clicking the
"reply" button on your mail package does not necessarily send your
response to the original poster. You might have to actively address
your response with the original poster's email address.
- DO NOT use the List to respond to a post unless you have something
to add that is relevant and has a broad appeal. "Way to go!", "I
agree", and "Congratulations" are all responses that are better sent
to the original poster directly, rather than to the List at large.
- When responding to others' posts, avoid the feeling that you need to
comment on every last point in their posts, unless you can truly
contribute something valuable.
- Feel free to disagree with other viewpoints, BUT keep your tone
polite and respectful. Don't make snide comments, personally attack
other listers, or take the moral high ground on an obviously
controversial issue. This will only cause a pointless debate that
will hurt feelings, waste bandwidth and resolve nothing.
