How about a Sirius satellite radio receiver for U.S. flyers? You take it
out of your car and plonk it into the airplane - Voila! - beautiful music,
sports, news, etc., without the hassle of commercials, loss of signal as you
move from area to area; plus they are *very* light-weight.

Hello everyone,
We are in the process of building motor glider wings for a customer and have discovered
that we were shipped duplicate sets of parts for the port wing without
the correct parts for a starboard wing.
Specifically, the "c" spar, outer 3/4 panel, outer 1/4 panel, BL 200 and BL 249
ribs, and the air brake stiffener. Does anybody out there have the same problem
except having 2 sets of starboard wing parts??? We could trade and, hopefully,
get 2 more sets of motor glider wings completed. We look forward to any comments.

I agree with white too, Mike, but context reminder to others, we were
talking black tinted (or even dark green au naturel) Redux bonding the
windows, and exposed to the sun.
A digital infrared temp measuring device is a neat tool, and using it
on a car shows how a chart of temp vs. color may not predict actual
temp, only approx. variance between colors. It has to do with a bunch
of stuff, especially amount of organic compounds in the paint or the
material, such as carbon fiber and asphalt you cited. A tire will
likely be much hotter than the black, plastic fender flare above it.
The tool would be useful to a builder desiring some color, by
comparing pieces of fiberglass coated with white vs. whatever color,
metallic or not, etc. Or a darker color judged tolerable on wingtips
of least structural concern. Plus other diagnostic and even household
uses....

Sorry, but at this time I am not able to make any comparisons. The Kremen
does have a constant speed function though.
I saw Dave Joyce's Kremen when we in France, and thought it looked pretty.
I am not a VP prop enthusiast. I have always been very satified with the
fixed pitch performance of my aeroplane and have not considered it worth the
extra complexity, weight, or cost. At the price Dave mentioned though, I
thought it was worth a try. That is why I bought it. Dave knows far more
about comparisons with other products than I do, and he will probably
respond.
As I shall be doing the first conversion from Warp drive fixed pitch to the
Kremen constant speed VP. I will be reporting on any problems encountered,
and making comparisons on the before and after performance. So watch this
space! Who knows I may even become an enthusiast.

wings. I bought a 'motor glider kit' and took delivery in Jan 2004 . I paid in
full but opted to have the wings delivered 'a bit later on' when I could find
space for them....well you can work out the rest..no wings full stop. Caveat
emptor. Next time use a credit card, never mind the interest.
However I would like to keep the glider wing story alive ....Dave Anderson
has shown that the motor glider really does live up to its design claims. The
Europa may be getting old but the stretched version has only just hatched!
I wonder-
a) how many sets of long wings are 'out there'?
b) how many people would be interested in buying the long wings assuming
some sort of production is resumed by someone?
c) what are my chances of finding any decent wings long or short?
PS Jeremy Davey tells me the costs of fulfilling the PFA tests are maybe no
more than
=A310 000 which shared between a dozen or so owners would be well worth
paying...

requires the participation and cooperation of each and every member of
the List. To this end, the following guidelines have been established:
- Please keep all posts related to the List at some level. Do not submit
posts concerning computer viruses, urban legends, random humor, long
lost buddies' phone numbers, etc. etc.
- THINK carefully before you write. Ask yourself if your post will be
relevant to everyone. If you have to wonder about that, DON'T send it.
- Remember that your post will be included for posterity in an archive
that is growing in size at an extraordinary rate. Try to be concise and
terse in your posts. Avoid overly wordy and lengthy posts and
responses.
- Keep your signature brief. Please include your name, email address,
aircraft type/tail number, and geographic location. A short line
about where you are in the building process is also nice. Avoid
bulky signatures with character graphics; they consume unnecessary
space in the archive.
- DON'T post requests to the List for information when that info is
easily obtainable from other widely available sources. Consult the
web page or FAQ first.
- If you want to respond to a post, DO keep the "Subject:" line of
your response the same as that of the original post. This makes it
easy to find threads in the archive.
- When responding, NEVER quote the *entire* original post in your
response. DO use lines from the original post to help "tune in" the
reader to the topic at hand, but be selective. The impact that
quoting the entire original post has on the size of the archive
can not be overstated!
- When the poster asks you to respond to him/her personally, DO NOT
then go ahead and reply to the List. Be aware that clicking the
"reply" button on your mail package does not necessarily send your
response to the original poster. You might have to actively address
your response with the original poster's email address.
- DO NOT use the List to respond to a post unless you have something
to add that is relevant and has a broad appeal. "Way to go!", "I
agree", and "Congratulations" are all responses that are better sent
to the original poster directly, rather than to the List at large.
- When responding to others' posts, avoid the feeling that you need to
comment on every last point in their posts, unless you can truly
contribute something valuable.
- Feel free to disagree with other viewpoints, BUT keep your tone
polite and respectful. Don't make snide comments, personally attack
other listers, or take the moral high ground on an obviously
controversial issue. This will only cause a pointless debate that
will hurt feelings, waste bandwidth and resolve nothing.
