in the baggage bay.

Hi all,
I believe one of the very early Europa builder did this, I think his name
was Walter Binder. He added wing tanks, a glider tow hook, put the flap
retract mechanism inside the wing and did some modifications to the
windscreen / cowl area. He was mostly involved with gliders and was
interested in drag reduction. I am sure that other forum members that have
been around longer than me can provide more accurate information, but I know
that this guy has never participated in the Europa community.

Paul, et.al.,

I began work on my Instrument Rating on 1 Oct. I was requested to show
proof of citizenship, preferably passport. That was the only
requirement at that time. This was prior to the recent TSA regulation
announcement so I don't know if it has changed much.
I just read the AOPA blurb and it seems that this is the current
status. Proof of U.S. Citizenship is necessary for Rating training.
BTW, I have no problem with the background checks as I have been
through several over the years while holding a Security Clearance,
purchasing a couple vintage firearms from the Federal Government and
for my Concealed Carry Training and Permit.
If anyone is interested in flight training in the U.S., I'd be happy to
check with my flight school ( http://www.usflightacademy.com/usfa/ ) to
find out it they have been "qualified" to train foreign nationals.
Texas usually has pretty darn good flying weather. That's why the
USAAF (WW II) and the USAF (post 1949) built so many pilot training
bases in Texas. And we have an empty guest bedroom we'd be happy to
provide for any Europa folks who would find themselves traveling
through or training in our area.
Good building and great flying,
Bob Borger

Hi all,
I seem to be reaching that happy stage where I get to fly my Europa more than I
have to work on it, so I have been cleaning up the workshop. I have a number
of items that I would like to sell.
1.25" UMA CHT gauge + sensor
1.25 UMA EHT gauge + sensor
2.25" UMA 0 ~ 50" Manifold pressure gauge
2.25" Europa branded fuel pressure gauge + sensor
2.25" Rotax tach.
Please contact me off list.
Thanks, Paul

Have you seen the new TSA rules regarding non-US citizen flight training
in the US?
I have been a CFI since 62, and am a member of the National Association of
Flight Instructors
Yesterday I received via e-mail a big revision to the stated TSA rules. They
are constantly being gone over by EAA and the NAFI and other groups to insure
they will not be a burden on the schools, students or CFI's. Granted we need
something, but there are limits~~~
Contact EAA/NAFI for most current info.

Hi All,
I have heard from a number of builders that they have recieved a demand for
money owed to EMIL, to be paid to Redman Nichols within 7 days.
None of them believe they owed anything. We are talking about small amounts,
but if they have done this to a large number of you, it could add up ?
Check your records before paying, or ask for details of what and when ? Might
be a scam? [alledgely !]
Cheers,
Nev.

Hallo Mattias and others, who are interested in this.
Walter Binder made this with a " Classic Europa Monowheel ".
I suppose, it's much easier to install tanks in foam wings than now with the
ready build up wings.
You can contact him under:

He has not forgotten you, but thanks to some new software he has lost
his address list (what happened to backups??).
While he's away, his e-mail address is disabled to avoid a mountain
of stuff when he returns, and I believe he will actually be setting
up a new address then.
Apologies for the continuing wait for pictures, but I'm sure it will
be worth it in the end!
