Firstly, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and hope everyone has a great
new year. I'd also like to thank everyone for the help they've given me since
we acquired Hotel India in September after far too little research!
I have a nice easy question for the list for a change - what is the ICAO code for
the Europa (ie what code do I put on a flight plan?)

Thanks Nev! But I think I have found where the plies terminate. By
looking at the trimmed edges around the wing root, I found a place
where the plies changed thickness which gave away the location.
That will be just about all you can see. Just to be sure you have complete
coverage, make sure that the Bid is laid well past the peel ply that you
removed.

All...especially the firewall forward-less,
I've made several postings regarding the installation of the Honda
VTEC-based CAM 125, one of which is now flying. Alex Bowman's C-GGNY;
construction progress photos can be viewed at:
http://www.firewall.ca/main.html
For a variety of reasons, Tony Renshaw, Gary Roberts, and I are exploring
the possibility of purchasing complete firewall forward kits for what we
believe is a superb, well-designed and engineered, robust 130 hp powerplant
in combination with the Airmaster 3222 prop.
The package includes cowlings and various ancillary FG parts from production
moldings, engine mounts, complete cooling and exhaust systems.
We are looking for a few more adventurous souls in order to spread
previously incurred development costs over say six builders. If you have any
interest in such an endeavor, please contact any of us for additional
information.

Monday and Tuesday appear to be the best days this week and then we start to
get Atlantic weather on Wednesday.
May I therefore suggest Old Buckenham for today (Monday 27th December)
freebie in Pilot. It also has a hard runway if needed. (Roserrow might be
a bit soggy and Northweald, Enstone and Stapleford are a bit close for Rick
and David.) I don't know what the grub is like, because I don't think I
have been there before. Say 12.00 noon or thereabouts.
Best wishes,
William

Richard,
I am sure there are several insurers that will provide ground risks cover
for the winter period, unless, of course, they have all decided to withdraw
such facilities. But that might be viewed as anti-competitive!!! However,
Jeremy Davey is the man to consult, because he carried out an insurance
survey on the Club Forum last year and he is also our PFA NC delegate. I
understand the PFA are negotiating with the aviation brokers for a bulk
discount insurance cover for PFA members owing to the compulsory liability
cover due to take effect this year. Jeremy should also be able to inform
you of the latest situation in that regard. I think we would all be
interested in your advice, Jeremy, if that is OK with you.
Best wishes,
William
