John, Lock nuts are easy. As the tabs will readily turn 90 degrees to the
tail plane you can get fingers/spanner to the nut without problem. Regards,
David Joyce, G-XSDJ

PICK YOURSELF A CHEAP GOOD QUALITY HEADSET
Only three hours of the auction left (Current bid =A350.00).
I am currently selling my old Skyforce headset on Ebay as I was given a new one
for Christmas. There are actually two for sale, (though only one advertised).
Both in good condition. Physically they are similar to Dave Clark/ Avcomm headsets.
The ANR is very effective though not as comfortable as the new one (Sennheiser
HMEC 300).
If you are looking for a cheap pair of ANR headsets then you might consider bidding
for these.

I'm going to order the SL-30 Nav/Com. Van's requires the harness to be sold with
it. To order the radio, I have to supply all the wire lengths. I'm having a
hard time with this. I have a good idea where things are going, but I'm sure some
things will have to change. Has anyone run into this before?
I'll attach the PDF form if you want to look at it.
Also attached is Trev's panel. I'd send mine, but Experimental Panel Builder somehow
knows I'm a Mac user and deletes all the instruments for my panel when I
try to save it. ( that's with the one XP machine I have hidden in the basement
)
Units I have: EFIS Sport Blue mountain, KMD-150 MFD, Trutrak - soon to bePictorial
Pilot.
To Add: Steam gauges, SL-30, transponder, Exp Bus, flopping on the ACS2002 soon
to be AF-2500 engine monitor.
Thanks,
Steved.

Steve
That panel look too tight to work. No space for stringheners to hold it together.
(across the bottom)
Regarding wireing lingth, Will they be building the wires with both ends make up?
If only one end, easy ! Just have them make them all 6 feet long. really
I can't tell you! Depends on where the phono jacks go and fuses / CB are. There
should be outputs to a audo panel and two PTT sw. I wired my plane ONE wire
at a time. Can't admagin having to figure it all out ahead of time. What are
Vans thinking about? (Factory built plan)
Good luck
PS did you see my posting for a Cowling Cockpiut Cover?

Hey Guys,
I am about to wire up the radio, intercom, transponder and encoder. The
KY76A and AK350 diagrams seem to be pretty straight forward. However I am
uncertain concerning the intercom and radio. My combination consists of an
ICOM IC-A200 radio and a Sigtronics SPA-400-TSO. If anyone has this same
setup or can otherwise help me I would be grateful a plenty. The points in
question are these:
On the intercom diagram, (pointing to a generic radio symbol): 1. Mic Audio
2. Radio Mic Key
3. Headphone Audio
On the radio connector diagram:
1.
Pin E to a 4 ohm speaker if desired.
2.
Pin H to a single 500 ohm headphone jack.
_______
/ 3.
Pin J to a N.C. part of a PTT then on to what may be the ring or mid point
of a mike jack.
(To Yoke mounted PTT)----/ 4 . Pin K to the
N.O. side of above.
\_______5. Pin 9
to the other set of N.C. contacts then to what may be the tip of that same
mike jack.
Three more pins on radio plug
shown going to an audio control panel. 6. Pin D to Aux audio
input 1
7.
Pin C to Aux audio input 2
8.
Pin 3 to Aux audio input 3
I hope this makes some sense to someone so I can get this wired up with no
smoke.
Thanks in advance to all.
