You need to try one on. Leg length is the biggest problem, long legs are
hard to fold away.
You could move the rudder pedals forward, but that would be awkward on the
passenger side. It also help to move the base of the seat down and forward,
to give a better reclining position.
Head height can be fixed by raising the fuselage top

Hi! Paul
Further to Grahams notes below there is also the option of the "expanded
windows" to give a little more head room and shoulder room.

I am 6'2" and 250 and I fit in my classic. But my big deal was the length
of my torso which required some seat modifications so I could fit
comfortably. And I must say that I don't have full stop to stop with the
ailerons, but then I don't plan on flying aerobatic, at least not on
purpose.

I'm 6'3", 240 and I "fit" in an early model. The XS does not appear to be a
problem.

Concerning reliability of automotive electronics systems that get too
complex, I had a feeling the link below might be now happening out
there. 60% of a huge service manual on my new Toyota Solara is
devoted to computer systems and diagnostics.
There is no key lock on the right side door. If the left side key
lock were frozen or such, and the keychain electronics went south, you
can't even break into your own car. One of several
standard-equipment, security systems will, beyond flashing/aural
alarms, disable the engine. And I have never figured out the sequence
of things that I do leaving the vehicle in my own garage, where most
times on next drive I merely open the door; other days its Hal 2004
computer has locked the doors, I guess overnight!

Be optimistic! Your car could lock the doors while you were still inside, and start
honking as soon as you move! Yes, it makes you think. But people (me :-)
) do like things to be automated, and systems to do the thinking for them. My
Renault Scenic pulls the handbrake if i stop the engine, switches the lights and
the radio off if i open the door, locks the doors, if i have the key with me,
opens the doors if i have the key in my pocket, and lets me use the start button
if i press the brake, and the key is inside, not needed to put it in a lock.
I like it! There is no way to stop progress. Of course, these systems are
new, and contain bugs, the users are not educated in them and the repairman usually
sees them for the first time too, so he is as helpless as the customer.
Today i heard an radio interview with Jorma Ollila, CO of Nokia. He states that
people do want more gadgets on their mobile phone, but that Nokia will only implement
them if they can make the user interface so easy, that the user can handle
the thing without first having to read the manual. I think that's the way
to go. Any manual containing more then the legal disclaimers admits the thing
is not really made for humans.
As for the car frying the passengers on the back seat: Computers should contain
a idiocy check. Like if the engine intake air sensor reads 80, the forward interior
sensor reads 75 and the rear sensor -32 it is clear for any idiot that
the sensor is broken. Error message in the diagnosis log, and change to the forward
cabin sensor for control. That part of the program however only appears
in version 7.2 <grin> because system analysts are hmm idiots?
For us experimental builders, we make our own user interface. So let us use a 2nd
(and 100th) opinion (on this forum) if any doubt!

Hi Paul,
I would be delighted to demonstrate my Europa XS if you would care to pop up
to Sleap in your C150.
My aeroplane is fitted with the engine God intended (need I say, it's a
Rotax912S?) and I don't think you would complain at the lack of smoothness
nor at the low fuel consumption!
Fitting any engine other than the Rotax will cause more work and hassle and
the factory can supply everything you will need to do so. One stop shopping
must make for an easier build.
Give me a call if you would like to be impressed!
Regards,
Ron Jones.(G-RJWX)

An article in the Wall Street Journel last week spoke to this issue,
particularly w/ respect to failures and glitches in high-end vehicles.
Seems that many proud Mercedes owners have found themselves left with only a
"limp home" mode...hardly something a pilot would find satisfactory!
