    Subject: Re: Nosewheel bungee
--> Europa-List message posted by: "Garry" <garrys@tampabay.rr.com> Willie, The bungee cords go "soft" after about 18 months. Replacement is next to impossible. I threw away my bungee cord and simply (steel) cabled the nosegear to the engine frame. My thoughts were that there is adequate suspension and shock absorption from the nose tire itself, and there is flexibility built into the nosegear assembly too. In my opinion if my landings are so poor as to require more shock absorption than available from the tire and nosegear, then I need to take up another hobby. If I was building all over again, I'd weld the nosegear suspension shut. --> Europa-List message posted by: "Tim Weert" <tim.weert@hccnet.nl> Hi Willie, The bungee is a protection spring for your nosegear strut. We have replaced the bungee by 2 rustfree springs with the same springconstante. They are about 200 euro for two. Here are more tri-gear Europa's flying with that unofficial "MOD". I can give you all data for the spring, but in the UK you've first to deal with PFA to get permission to install them.
