--> Europa-List message posted by: "Erich Trombley" <erichdtrombley@juno.com> I have a Mono-wheel which I secure at tail with an eye-bold going the tail-wheel spring and at the wings using the outriggers as an attached point. Hope this helps. I am also planning on flying my Europa to OSHKOSH. Last year I rented tie-downs from the EAA for a nominal fee which worked out really nice. See ya there. --> Europa-List message posted by: "Garry" <garrys@tampabay.rr.com> The tie down procedure I use on my trigear is one rope thru the eye bolt in the tail, and then two screw anchors about two feet in front of the wings, spaced about ten feet apart. I then run a 1/4" rope from one screw anchor up and over the space between the prop spinner and the cowling, and then down to the other screw anchor. This holds the front of the plane in place. Ideally, I should have built retractable tiedown hooks into the wings, but this procedure works as well as anything else I could come up with. Subject: Re: Noise Statement wanted
--> Europa-List message posted by: "Duncan McFadyean" <ami@mcfadyean.freeserve.co.uk> I have the following measured data: Europa 912S, Rotax exhaust (similar to the XS exhaust, but not nearly as quiet as the Classic exhaust),Warp Drive wide chord fixed pitch prop set to 20.5 degrees at 64" diameter. 71.5 dBA maximum measured at ground level during a 500' full power overhead pass. Average of two runs. Background noise levels at the time were 45 dBA. A slightly better result may have been obtained by placing the monitoring point in the middle of a field, rather than at the intersection of two hard runways, which could have resulted in a small component of reflected noise. But, whilst a good quality meter was used, its recalibration date was overdue. And different authorities require different standards of measurement; I think ours actually require the average of three or more runs, not two. This may be of some use to you. Or not! --> Europa-List message posted by: "Paul McAllister" <paul.mcallister@qia.net> Hi all, I thought I would take my 914 up to 10,000 feet and run it at 100% power to see if it would do the mythical 200 mph. Here are the data I recorded. OAT 16 c 10,000' @ 29.92 North GPS 129 knots South GPS 175 knots East GPS 167 knots West GPS 140 knots I plugged these numbers into the 4 Axis IAS spread sheet that I got from the Europa club and it tells me that the TAS is 178 knots with a density altitude of 12,310', but..... this is where I get confused. None of my ground speeds are 178 knots, so am I misunderstanding something here, or are the calculations in the spread sheet incorrect. Paul

Average of North/South = 152 kts Average of East West = 153.5 kts. Can't understand where the extra comes from ? ? ? Regards Kingsley
