Just exactly what was in the back of that trailer you were camping in at
Kemble Nev..!
I presume you had to leave on Saturday to allow yourself plenty of time
to get to your G8 campsite in Edinburgh and claim a prime spot. Sorry I
missed you.

Oh no Ron, your 914 has been contaminated with KRYPTONITE, which means
if
you have touched it, you will almost certainly die within the next 70
years or
so.....sad but true.......
Nev.

I think Ron should be grateful for the Kryptonite boost he now has with the
914 Turbo. I await performance figures!
My main concern is with Nev's knowledge on the matter of Kryptonite. Seems
an inside job!

Just out of interest, Watts aviation have a special offer on Michelin
Air tyres for tri gear at present. 5.00 x 5 4 ply rating. Normally
=A360, currently =A339 each +vat + carriage
I have no interest in or link to Watts, just bought a pair for myself. I
am told that they are more hard wearing than the Europa supplied
Air-Trac.

Cheers,
I sent out an email because I couldn't divine the thread of the gas
strut anchor balls. The reason was a 1910-era inherited thread tester which
had a faulty label, showing 5mmx0.7mm thread when in fact it was 5x0.8mm
thread. So all my caterwauling was for nought.
I have now managed to p[roduce the correct tapped holes for the gas
struts and apologise for the error.
Onward and upward.

Cheers,
I thought with all this rotten talk about Nev that he deserved a
fair reply in his own defence. I stumbled across him, attending a Europa at
an unnamed northeastern field recently - purely by accident you
understand............

I'm surprised you recognised him in a blue body suit with flowing red cape.
I guess the flowing hair style was the giveaway.

If you must do your own, Lyndhurst in UK does one (inported from USA). Cost
is about 1000. I believe it can also be loaned/ hired (presumably though
only in the UK).
Carl
it isn't imported from the US! It was developed and manufactured by our own Mark
Burton.

Subject: | radio interference |
--> Europa-List message posted by: "Richard Iddon" <riddon@sent.com>
I recently fitted an Xcom voice activated intercom to my Microair radio
setup. I also invested in a pair of ANR headsets. Whilst I have reduced
the noise both my passenger and I hear very considerably, I am getting
some complaints from ATC units that there is now a lot of background
noise in my transmissions, (possibly interference from the alternator?)
Any idea's why this might be?

Subject: | radio interference |
--> Europa-List message posted by: "nigel charles" <nigelcharles@tiscali.co.uk>
Hi Richard
On the basis that this problem has only manifested itself since your new
radio fit the problem is likely to be somewhere within the altered
avionics setup.
As the problem is noticed by ATC but not on board the aircraft I would
tend to think it is in the mic rather than the tel circuit. My line of
approach in order would be as follows:
1. Try another pair of headsets which you know are OK (not necessarily
ANR).
2. Some intercoms are wired such that they are bypassed if they are
turned off (or have a norm/fail switch). This connects the P1 headset
directly to the radio.
3. Confirm that all you new mic/tel wires are screened and are only
earthed at one end (no earth loops). Check you new wiring is not routed
differently. If it is it might be picking up interference from other
unscreened circuits.
4. If 2 above is not possible temporarily wire the radio to bypass the
intercom.
5. Try the above with a different headset.
6. If the problem is still there with a proven headset connected direct
to the radio it is either the radio or the aerial. Assuming you haven't
changed the aerial (or its cable or connector) then the culprit is
likely to be the radio itself.
Hope this helps. I would be interested to know the results of your
findings.
Nigel Charles
