Hi Everyone
I have been asked by my test pilot Steve Lamb if there is
anyone in the UK who has does the trike conversion and has a
spare suspension block for the monowheel suspension
mechanism. He is only interested in the newer style block
with the holes for the shock absorbers not the original
rectangular solid block.
Should you have one that you would be happy to part with

Not advertising but just making a recommendation.
I decided to trim the interior of my Europa myself. If it had all gone wrong
early on I would have given up but things are getting along nicely.
I have been using lightweight Aircraft carpet around sides and Fuel tank
area but to add some coordination have purchased some lightweight Car Carpet
for flooring and Liner for baggage bay upper area from the following
Company. Coverdale Carpets.

Having completed my XS upgrade I have found a few left over parts which
might be of use to Classic owners.
The following parts are surplus to requirements and are available:-
Carbon fibre backplate for the Classic spinner. This is much stiffer
than the original helping the spinner to run true.
Top cowl (painted white) with access doors fitted. This includes the
NACA duct for the plenum chamber.
Plenum chamber suitable for the Classic only.
Original mild steel exhaust. It has surface rust but is unused. It could
be useful as a temporary exhaust if problems arise with the stainless
exhaust.

I presume you meant the air filter not the oil filter (which is at the
front of the engine). I cut off the lug anyway as it does nothing
useful.

I am the brink of buying a Woodcomp 3000/3 Constant Speed prop.
Not sure though what instruments to fit in the cockpit.
I personally would go for a manifold pressure in combination with prop RPM.
Any thoughts on this more than welcome.

Sorry Nigel - I meant the oil tank and its pipework as it was in the way on
the stbd side of the engine/firewall.
I did wonder about the lug but decided that I did not know enough to start
using a hacksaw on what might have been an important attachment.

We tend to use fuel flow more than MP. Fuel flow comes close to
representing percent power, which is a function of both MP and RPMs.

Good question - I am planning the same but won't be ready for
that till early '06. Be pleased to hear of your success. Might be wise to
talk to David Joyce as one of the first and still using it. I'd be
interested to see what he says.
Any experience I have tells me RPM and MP are all one needs to
safely control the engine parameters, provided you know the limits of
course. The idea was not to overboost, i.e: max MP for RPM in use. Those
were memory items in cadet days......

thank you for your advise. After reading your comments I rechecked my
alignments and in deed I was not absolutely in level in pitch. I simply had
to use a longer level. Also the hint that it is stated in the manual that it
is ok to bend the flange of the sockets made a huge difference. I also
contacted Andy this morning about all this and he stated that it would be ok
to lower the fuselage by a quarter inch. I did the math and it ended to
increase the AOA by less then 0.2 deg. I had to lower the fuselage only by
an 1/8th of an inch so the increase is les the 0.1 deg..
Anyway. my sockets are in. Thanks again.
