It also depends on the fitness-for-purpose of the design (and how it integrates with the design of the specific aircraft), the efficiency with which the manufacturer executes the design (CNC and low volume output cannot compete with high volume traditional methods) and the manufacture's margin. Then there's the question about whether the engine is priced for the market or bench-marked against the market leader. Of course, this same debate is well documented in the archives; so no point in being drawn to further repeat it here. Except that the most important aspect of an aero engine is again absent from the discussion (reliability). It also is not bad for the pain if you spill of have a leak. It is what I use. Cliff Shaw 1041 Euclid ave. DOT 5 it is! Now if I can just find something to pump the fluid in with from the bottom up to the top...then you don't get air in the line, I hear. What works well to pump the fluid uphill? I fit a short piece of tubing to it and just squirt it in and then shut off the fitting, reload and do it allover again. I have had a lot of problems bleeding my tri gear finger brakes and have ended up using a kit from an automotive shop. Can't remember the name but you fill a bottle with brake fluid and connect this to the top of the master cylinder then pressurise the bottle with a foot pump. You can then simply crack the bleed screws one at a time and the pressure pushes all the air out whilst maintaining fluid in the master cylinder. Very simple one man operation.
