--> Europa-List message posted by: BEBERRY@aol.com I have asked on this forum for someone to let me know the spec of the springs and no-one has replied. Does anyone know it? I have good contacts in Sheffield including a brother in law who runs his own stainless steel busines. Now while I cannot guarantee anything, it is quite possible that I could find a source of springs, possible 'off the shelf' at an advantageous price to memebers. Any comments? Patrick

But, I would suggest to wait with ordering/manifacturing until Ian and Ivor have a approval from PFA. Than all conditions are clear. Regards, Tim.

    Subject: Arplast Prop??
--> Europa-List message posted by: BEBERRY@aol.com Having recently fitted an Arplast VP prop and spent 4 weeks trying to get everything running smoothly, I am coming round to the view that the prop may be out of balance. I had thought that the engine, at low and medium rpm was cutting to 3 cylinders, but local engineers are 99% sure that this is not the case and the vibration etc is maybe down to the prop. Has anyone any comments or experience that will help?. Thanks in advance. Patrick

--> Europa-List message posted by: "Simon Smith" <jodel@nildram.co.uk> The most obvious suggestion is that the hub sockets are marked with 1, 2 and 3 dots as are the blades. Check that you have the correct blade in the correct socket since the marks are applied at the factory after balancing. If you are a member of the Europa club then get in contact with Pete Jeffers who (I think) has the clubs prop balancer. Subject: Ventilator
--> Europa-List message posted by: "Fergus Kyle" <VE3LVO@rac.ca> I dredged this from long past records (the attached URL is long gone), but intend to research the utility of it when airborne. The quality of the photos is poor, but the principle is clear. Photo1 is a copy of a long-defunct URLsite; Photo2 is my adaptation, made from a Clark Y airfoil rotated 12 degrees to present what is hopefully an ideal shape to maximise out-draft . I have a drawing somewhere............ and have built and tested a copy in the auto window - it works well at 50mph. Cheers, Ferg PS: The purpose was to draw air backward from the cockpit with a controllable flap to regulate the flow - in order to increase airflow but not reduce a positive pressure in the cockpit. The latter reason is to prevent inward flow of air through the throttle stand slots (Throttle, choke, brake, gear) and thus make less susceptible to smoke or noxious fumes forward. I expect to duct (2inch) from rear bulkhead to the form in the rear of the aircraft somewhere, as I say with a rotating flap operated from the seat to control the effect.
