I am contemplating glassing in a flat plate just behind the baggage bulk head but thought it may be hard to reach for testing and of course other emergency reasons. Just curious to what others have done. Thanks In Advance to anyone sharing there mount. I put the ELT under the baggage bay and accusable through the port hatch. It is not as convenient as I might want, but better than behind the "D" bulkhead. I have three strobe power supplies there too, and the gas collator and electric bust pump. (912S) Cliff Shaw 1041 Euclid ave. And hope you are in a condition and have the time to use the screwdriver. I mounted mine on top of the baggage bay behind the left-hand seat. Simply flip the latch and take it with you. I like simple solutions. Behind the starboard seat it is. Now can you tell me where you all mounted the antenna? I should have put this one in the first question. Thanks!! It pretty well followed the line from the bottom of the D to the top section of the fuselage. I can't remember the length, but its a pretty simple calculation that I got out of the ARRL handbook. Secured to the fuselage with Velcros. Works perfectly!! Cheers, Tim Tim Ward 12 Waiwetu Street, Fendalton, Christchurch, 8005 New Zealand. The manual doesn't give much of a clue, has anyone had any experience with this? I assume if I can get a repeatable failure that I can connect my laptop up and read the engine log to find out, but until then I am guessing a bit. To do this perhaps yu would need a flying waistcoat that you always wear. The engine temp. finds its way into the cockpit one way or the other and its comfortable in winter. On the other hand it can get too hot in summer. Brings air in from outside with SCAT tubing, over a "cuff" on the muffler, with inlet and outlet, to warm the air up, then to an airbox ( from aircraft spruce catalogue) and dumps the warm air through the top of the firewall moulding, down on to the pilots feet, or out of the vents on the top of the cowling, depending whether the airbox flap is up or down. Easier to do on a 912S installation as I was able to use the inlet duct on the right lower side of the bottom fairing, on a 914 would have to add an inlet duct. My problem now is I may end up using this hot air for carb heat, unless I can get an approval on my Skydrive system.
