The last one held in = 2004 was a great success and was enjoyed by all those attending. See = Richard Iddon's account in the Europa Flyer No 24 April / September = 2005. I hope to include countries in the Alps region and Southern Europe, but, = as always, it will depend on weather patterns at the time. =20 I would welcome suggestions for countries, towns / cities to visit and = overnight stops etc. Please don't be put off by proposed visits to the Alps. Photos can be = very deceptive and a bit daunting, but there are always airfields in the = bottom of the valleys if you need to land and the weather conditions = have to be OK. The view of the Alps from the air in good weather is = absolutely stunning. =20 If any European friends would like to join us for an evening, or join us = for some or all of the legs, you will be most welcome and it might = encourage us to visit your particular neighbourhood. If you intend to join the trip, please let me know, either by email or = 'phone. My number is 01495 785499 and please let me have any = suggestions. Best wishes, William ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 11:39:42 AM PST US From: "Paul McAllister" Subject: RE: Europa-List: Brake seals --> Europa-List message posted by: "Paul McAllister" Hi all, Thanks for the responses on brake seals. The problem ultimately turned out to be a leak on the hose at the union where it screws into the master cylinder. It was harder to find than it was to fix, not the roomiest place working up in the tunnel. I have a question. As part of the trouble shooting exercise I removed the wheel cylinder and pads. The pads had about 60% of there thickness left, but the piston was coming out of the bore at an angle in order to be able to apply pressure to the pads. I messed with it for a while. but I could never get the piston to come straight out of the bore so I gave up and put new pads in. What experiences have other people had ? I ordered new pads and the little tool for removing and replacing rivets on the pads (ACS). When I replaced them I found I could get the piston straight and now they have stayed straight for last 50+ hrs.You will need new pads to get piston straight because pads are likely wore at an angle and that wont let the pistons straighten. My brake works much better after replacing pads.
