EAA 244 is hosting it's "Soon To Be Famous" fried catfish lunch, this Saturday at False River Regional Airport (HZR). We usually start gathering between 10 & 11 AM. All are welcome. This is going to be a monthly event, every 2nd Saturday, so, any pilots near Baton Rouge, LA, mark this on your calendar as a must go. False River Regional is a great little airport with decent fuel prices and a great bunch of folks. Tell your buddies and bring a flight. Look forward to seeing a few of you, there... Unmodified, the aluminum duct must be deformed in order to fit it between the footwells because it is wider than the space available. Since out kits were probably shipped at about the same time we may have the same problem because the duct was made to the wrong size. It could also be that the fuselage is the culprit if the same firewall molding was used in both the Classic and XS - I don't recall when the left footwell was modified by the factory for additional legroom so we may not have the same molding. When I refit the duct I will have to disassemble the thing and "adjust" the width. It's either that or pound it in with a large hammer and hope I never have to do remove the duct. (a) I fouled the centre area with mods to accomodate the Wilksch engine and (b) I used Graham Singleton's firewall to compensate. If you have employed (b) with the 914, could you confirm that the ducting is not interfered with, as the instructions are not specific regarding ducting vs. footwells as much as ducting vs. cowling (which is months from ready to apply). Please advise if you found the combination of the two, (b) and 914, compatible or at least manageable, as am loath to tackle the ducting if it's not going to fit properly.. Ferg Kyle Europa A064 914 Classic PS: Graham, if you're in there, this in no way impugns the design but does complicate the conception for the moment.......... ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 12:57:46 PM PST US From: "cgalley" Subject: Europa-List: Fw: Doc Farley's Europa > Did a little checking on the plane... From: rlborger Europaphiles, What's with E'04? Over the last couple months I have placed several orders for various parts/components and have asked some technical questions. I have not even received a simple reply or even acknowledgment. What's with them? I trust they aren't in trouble again? If anyone happens to be in the shop would you please give them a swift kick in the a** for me.
