We will be staying sat at the Travelodge if anyone wants to meet up. Alan & Kate 17/18th June the North Weald fly in. This year's event is linked in with the Air Britain event so it is likely to be a busy day. You will need a slot. It would be helpful to call beforehand -Alan Couchman at the Squadron 44(0)1992 524 510 to advise ETA which will help in assessing numbers. Also it is, by chance, the Queens birthday so the RAF team has put together a rather LARGE fly past which will over fly North Weald at 12.55pm. en route to Buckingham Palace. If you want to see it rather than an official from the CAA I suggest you get on the ground by that time or arrive later. Camping is available and basic facilities will be available the whole weekend. As there is likely to be quite a crowd with the Commanche society and the Navion society present I am not sure what the food availability will be in the evening . If you want to be a little more comfortable then accommodation is available as follows. Can't say which is best as we haven't stayed at any. 1. the Travelodge http:www.travelodge.co.uk at North Weald, 2. Pergola Lodge Guest House houses in Epping, about 4 miles (6kms) away; http:www.stayinepping.co.uk, only a small place but Maz Bradwood, the owner is happy to give a =A35 reduction for us pilots. 3. Brooklands, no web site but also in Epping tel: 44(0)1992 575 424 Pooleys unfortunately does not confirm circuit height which is 800' on QFE and about 1150' on QNH. Francis de Beer is organising it, but is not a member of the Europa net and has asked me to seek volunteers. What is involved is using your own car to take people (who have flown in) to their hotels/B&Bs in the evening and then pick them up again to return to Kemble in the morning. This has mostly involved about three trips into Cirencester or somewhere reasonably nearby. Here are my accolades: Than you, thank you thank you!!! I am at that point myself and have been cogitating on that exact issue prior to starting the process of shedding skin. From my experience, I'd guess they can not be used a 2nd time, but that's speculation on my part. I say bother John and Roger. At least that's what I did when one of my "Binx" nuts came apart when I removed the engine mount from the ring mount. Roger says he air-mailed me a new set over a week ago. I still haven't seen them. I expect they'll arrive this week. I plan to keep the new ones separate from the old ones and marked as such. Then use the old nuts for the off and on fitting and not apply the new ones till all is where it should be and the engine goes on for the last time. Then, I'll order another set from E'04 to go in the spares bin. Giles, We took the engine mount off the ring mount in order to apply the Singleton Firewall in place of the stainless steel skin eater that Europa supplies. The last pieces of the Singleton firewall are fitted and attached over the engine mount. But the engine can't be on the mount in order to do this. Therefore we have to remove the engine mount from the ring mount, apply the engine mount to the airframe, apply the firewall and, finally, apply the engine ring mount to the engine mount. I hope that was clear. It sure doesn't sound clear to me now that I have read it again. Being a Yank, my English isn't all that great. Let me know if it isn't clear and I'll try round of explanation.
