I have found these two sites which show which airfields in Germany and
Austria have Mogas. They should be useful for anyone touring there.
Unfortunately, I can't find a similar site for France...

I find that the plastic wrap always sticks to the layup if it is left on for
more than a couple of days or if the layup is cured with the plastic wrap in
place..

Hi Paul
Depends how much of the wire you need - if you're just modifying the panel
etc, you can buy it by the meter from Matthew Russell - if you want
quantities to wire the whole aircraft, you may wish to buy rolls of the
common sizes as it would work out loads cheaper - you can buy it from
farnell (one of the two big catalogue suppliers to the electronics
industry - like a professional version of Maplin but much, much bigger) -
you can find them at www.farnell.co.uk They are great - you can even get a
3 1/8" starrett cutter from them for cutting the panel out.
I'd buy the rolls of wire from there and the odd lengths of screened and
very large diameters (for the master & avionics bus) from Matthew.
You can also get lengths from E-bay - most of it comes from the US but its
really not expensive to post.

Thanks Karl. I just didn't want to climb around in the back of the thing with the
top on to finish all of the little bits. Great to hear the top can be put on
later.
All the best,
Dan

Hi Dan,
Try using clear packing tape on the peice you are molding against, and
peel ply for the first layer of the layup. Then when cured the layup
comes off the taped mold. Then peel the peel ply off the new part and it
is ready to bond, no sanding.

I've been sanding it off but that's messy and time consuming. I just need
a way to make sure it is all removed without harming the layup.

Subject: | Rotax Ignition Modules |
I just spent about 4 hours changing out my Rotax 914 ignition module
"rubber isolation mounting bushings". It appears as though the rubber
bushings cracked themselves into two halves, as did the aluminum "L
bracket" which attaches one of the rubber bushings to the engine block.
This is just a note to all 912 and 914 pilots out there to keep an eye
on these bushings for possible future problems. Because of the
engineering/packaging, they are an absolute nightmare to change out,
without disassembling half the entire engine........just to get to the
*#$% nuts and bolts. Out of curiosity, has anyone else experienced a
problem with these rubber bushings breaking? I have about 450 hours
over 6 years on this engine.
