Planning flight from DK to Kemble it seems I can't find the coordinates for the "VFR Report Points" for flying the last few miles according to the instructions in the AIC..... (Shrivenham, Blackhill, Malmesbury Watertower etc. ...) I took down 14 pages from the Net and the last one was "Int blank", so I guess I have it all. Am I blind or what? Can't hardly remember how to fly without.... :-))) Regards Gert Gert Dalgaard Soerensen Stabelvej 9, Haarby DK 8660 Skanderborg Denmark Europa builder No. 151 Europa Classic / Rotax 914 AC reg.: OY-GDS Phone.: +45 8695 0595 E mail: lgds@post6.tele.dk http://home19.inet.tele.dk/dalgaard/oygds.jpg

Hi All I have sent Gert a scanned quarter mil map of the area and included the co-ordinates for the VRPs he wanted. The map is just over a megabyte so I sent it off forum. If any one else would like the same information let me know. Regards Pete

--> Europa-List message posted by: "William Daniell" <wdaniell@etb.net.co> Thanks good thought - however I always turn prop by hand and then check the oil which is right at the top of the old style dipstick that i have. My thoughts are that it is either something to do with the change in vicosity as the oil heats up or the sensor. The mchanic here sayd that it might also be the regulator sticking and then unsticking as the oil warms. -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Donald Ingram Sent: 12 August, 2006 23:08 Subject: Re: Europa-List: 912 oil pressure help --> Europa-List message posted by: "Donald Ingram" --> <robust_design@hotmail.com> Will, If your oil level was very low, the pump might be sucking air while cold oil slowly drains from the places it pumps to. After it warms and loses viscosity, it returns to the pump more quickly, raising the pressure again. Just a thought. There is a good article in September "Flying" magazine regarding unrecoverable spins. I found it interesting, particularly since developed spins are not covered in most of the training done. It is worth picking the magazine up. --> Europa-List message posted by: <rparigor@suffolk.lib.ny.us> Would appreciate if someone could tell me the angle of the left door sill on a XS Monowheel when it is sitting on ground. "Thinking inside the box" at the moment, installing a box where 2 Andair 375 Gasculators will live and allow draining and servicing from outside, aft of the trail edge of flaps. I want to make top of box level with ground, when the plane is sitting on its wheels, so I can drain the last drop of water out the bowls of Andairs. Our plane is still in cradle. Thx. Subject: Stalls and incipient spin
--> Europa-List message posted by: Gilles Thesee <Gilles.Thesee@ac-grenoble.fr> Hi all, The weather suddenly cleared this afternoon, so I took to the air in a Robin 2160 two seater, a French trainer with some aerobatics capacity. After some standard positive maneuvers with my student, I suggested trying to reproduce the dreaded skidded turn stall/spin. At a comfortable 4000 ft AGL, I first tried with about 1700 RPM, flaps up (spins with flaps on are a no-no on many light airplanes) and gave a gentle 30 bank with full inside rudder. Gradually pulling harder and harder on the stick until full aft, I was unable to stall the airplane. Tried again at idle, and with full aft stick, was able to reproduce the low wing drop followed by the inverted entry into incipient spin. Just centering the stick and rudder immediately regained control and I gently pulled out. Of course I would not try that near the ground. Total height loss approached 250-300 ft. I must say it took a considerable effort to bring the stick and the rudder to the stop, and at least 10-15 seconds before the wing drop. Tried again with outside rudder, as in a sideslip. Again, I had to pull hard before the airplane shuddered then gently dropped the upper wing. Releasing the controls stopped things in a wing level attitude, with nearly no noticeable altitude loss. In my opinion, this is the way a well behaved airplane should react. When stalling a non-aerobatic plane I usually keep the ball centered. FWIW, Regards, Gilles Thesee Grenoble, France http://contrails.free.fr
