--> Europa-List message posted by: D Wysong <hdwysong@gmail.com> Sorry for the bad question and confusion. I'm finishing the plumbing on a custom fiberglass tank (not for a Europa) and am looking for general "lessons learned" for installing the AN fittings. Did you simply drill the wall of the tank or fill neck and install the fittings with the AN nut? Was any sort of hardpoint or bulkhead (flox or aluminum) used? What about large washers? Are your holes drilled net or are they tapped to receive the AN fitting? Jos mentioned using redux. Is that used on the outside to "seal" the fitting in place? Any other "gotcha!"'s I'm missing? Thanks for any info/tips you're willing to share. D

--> Europa-List message posted by: Graham Singleton <grahamsingleton@btinternet.com> D You don't say how the tank is made. I guess it is vinyl ester resin/glass cloth but does it have a foam core? I just drilled the tank, (polyethylene) then pushed in the AN fitting with a large washer each side and screwed on the nut. Warming the PE helps soften it to get a good flat contact both sides. In your case something similar but using Redux420 or whatever they call it now, to form a fuel tight seal should work. You might try an O ring in a chamfered recess to seal the tank. Graham D Wysong wrote: > --> Europa-List message posted by: D Wysong <hdwysong@gmail.com> > > Sorry for the bad question and confusion. --> Europa-List message posted by: JEFF ROBERTS <jeff@rmmm.net> Ron, I must have missed part of this thread so tell me if I'm wrong here. Are you talking about a valve that will open automatically should the vent tub become clogged, and if so what catalog/company does your page numbers refer too? I would like to mount one in the filler tube venting it into the cabin. Go to : http://www.europaowners.org/ Scroll down to: Matronics Listserver For first post. I saw a few 1 way valves that tweaked my interest and listed them in 2 posts. Ron P.
