As Graham has said with the tunnel in the fuse is already fairly stiff.
I did the whole of the tri gear main wheels with the top off. The fuse
was on a wooden jig ( see
http://members.bellatlantic.net/~cpops/cradle.htm ) to support the tail
and the top was clecoed in place to check alignment when needed.
Everything came out just right.

I have already done something similar with vinilester formed over the belly
but did not include the tail support which was a mistake given how
difficult it is to turn over.
I also like your turn-over design to get at the belly.

Excellent advise Gram.
I found installing in the support ribs and lay-up to be a 70 hour job.
According to Andy, so long as the fuselage is supported in a good cradle, it is
acceptable do the job with the top off.
