I did the whole of the tri gear main wheels with the top off. The fuse was on a wooden jig ( see http://members.bellatlantic.net/~cpops/cradle.htm ) to support the tail and the top was clecoed in place to check alignment when needed. Everything came out just right. And I have considered with trepidation putting the (tri) gear in with the top on. ________________________________ Message 1 _____________________________________ Time: 03:52:34 AM PST US From: "William Daniell" Subject: RE: Europa-List: Before the top goes on --> Europa-List message posted by: "William Daniell" I have already done something similar with vinilester formed over the belly but did not include the tail support which was a mistake given how difficult it is to turn over. I also like your turn-over design to get at the belly. -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of G-IANI Sent: Sunday, November 05, 2006 05:14 Subject: RE: Europa-List: Before the top goes on --> Europa-List message posted by: "G-IANI" As Graham has said with the tunnel in the fuse is already fairly stiff. Graham) Excellent advise Gram. I found installing in the support ribs and lay-up to be a 70 hour job. According to Andy, so long as the fuselage is supported in a good cradle, it is acceptable do the job with the top off.
