The 2 pivot pins attaching the LG08's to the shock absorber top plate LG05 have been badly bent. Is there any way of getting these bent pins out without a complete undercarriage strip down? What other damage is the engineer/inspector likely to find? The engine has to come out of this airframe, anyway, to change its sprag clutch - it is a "classic" engine installation. Any tips gratefully received. Presumably, if the LG08's are detached, the landing gear can no longer be locked down, and the swinging arm will have to be held down with weights if the shockcord is to remain untouched? I ask these questions because this is the first landing gear damage that the engineer - Adrian Lloyd - has worked on. Too dangerous and awkard with it in place. Then strip the gear down. He might find the bottom tube of the LG01 is bent or cracked which will mean replacing that too. Same as Rotax supply. Email me off forum if interested in taking them off my hands for a small consideration. I have changed to a larger main wheel and to smaller outrigger wheels and the legs are too short. They have the nylon in various diameters and will cut to any length needed.
