Dear Listers,
I would like to thank everyone that made a Contribution in support of the Lists
this year! It was really nice to hear all great comments people had regarding
the Lists! As I have said many times before, running these Lists is a labor
of love. Your generosity during the List Fund Raiser only underscores the great
sentiments people have made regarding the Lists.
If you haven't yet made a Contribution in support of this year's Fund Raiser please
feel free to do so. The nice List gifts will be available on the site for
just a little while longer, so hurry and make your Contribution and get your
great gift. Once again, the URL for the Contribution web site is:
http://www.matronics.com/contribution
I would like to thank Andy Gold of the Builder's Bookstore ( http://www.buildersbooks.com ), Paul Besing of Aeroware Enterprises ( http://www.kitlog.com ), Jon Croke of Homebuilt HELP ( http://www.homebuilthelp.com ) and Bob Nuckolls of AeroElectric ( http://www.aeroelectric.com ) for their extremely generous support during this year's Fund Raiser through the contribution of merchandise. These are great guys that support the aviation industry and I encourage each and every Lister to have a look at their products. Thank you Andy, Paul, Jon and Bob!! Your support is very much appreciated!
And finally, below you will find a web link to the 2006 List of Contributors current
as of 12/7/06! Have a look at this list of names as these are the people
that make all of these List services possible! I can't thank each of you enough
for your support and great feedback during this year's Fund Raiser!
THANK YOU!
http://www.matronics.com/loc/2006.html
I will be shipping out all of the gifts in the next few weeks and hope to have
everything out by the end of the month. In most cases, gifts will be shipped
via US Postal Service. Kitlog Pro serial numbers should go out via email this
weekend.
Once again, thank you for making this year's List Fund Raiser successful!

Would someone with a monowheel trailer mind making some measurements
for me? I will be aquiring a trailier with a few missing parts and will
need to make them. Here's what I need:
1. Measurements for the aluminum I beam between the rear wheels.
Width, height, Length, and thickness. Also bolt hole locations and
diameter. Guess you've figured out by now this is one of the missing
parts.
2. Measurements for the "ramp" for the monowheel. Length, width,
height, and thickness.
3. Did anyone get any assembly instructions with the trailer? Any
chance they could be scanned and emailed.
Thanks,
Bill Henderson

Hi,
Sorry, all that is left is the VDO boost gauge (only any use for the 914)
and the fuel gauge. I have also found a VDO hour meter.
Cheers

Subject: | SPRL Locking gas caps |
Team,
In this age of $4 a gallon Av gas, I've decided it is probably a good idea
to install a locking gas cap on N245E. I ordered a locking SPRL cap from
Spruce, since it appeared to be the same as what was shipped with my kit, but
it
appears that the manufacturer has changed the design slightly since I took
delivery of my kit in 2002. The old flange won't work with the new style cap.
Short of major surgery to install a new flange, I don't see a way to get a
locking cap now that the design has changed.
Anybody know where I can get an old style locking cap? I tried Europa 2004
and they didn't respond to my e-mail. I also tried the SPRL factory website,
but I don't see the type used on the Europa (old or new). Spruce's customer
service wasn't any help, either.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi John,
Very surprised Europa 2004 has not responded to your email as I have always
found them to be extremely efficient.
Suggest you drop John Wheeler an email or ring Roger.

Hi John,
I would be happy to exchange my original locking cap for a non-locking one,
if you are interested.
Only, I have to tell you that the lock lets in rain water.

Karl

Hi Bill,
I have my trailer just outside and will get the info for you and send
you some photos off list. I also have a copy of the assembly sketch. As
I remember, there were no instructions. Glad to hear that you are still
making progress.

Hello John
Just a quick idea that may solve your problem.
I am using safety torx screws as a door lock (tapped into wood and
aluminium of handle into a strike). The safety torx is a torx with a pin
in the center.
Take a look at your cap close and you can probably drill and tap and lock
your cap. Not much chance someone will have a safety torx on hand.
I am more concerned about someone putting something that ain't supposed to
be in the tank.
Same goes for the oil.

Subject: | DOTH to Tatenhill tomorrow 9th December |
As there is a short break in this awful weather, I thought it might be
nice to have a DOTH to Tatenhill tomorrow, Saturday 9th December about
12 noon. Freebie landing voucher in "Pilot". I am hoping that my strip
will be usable, but in the unlikely event that it is not, please forgive
me if I do not make it.
Best wishes,
William

P. S.
Paddy has just reminded me that there is only very basic catering at
Tatenhill, so it might be prudent to bring a sandwich with you. Tea,
coffee and drinks are available, I seem to remember.

Subject: | Re: Monowheel trailer |
Hi Bill
My tire is a Air Hawk 9 - 008 which I think is a 9" 8ply. I don't remember
all of the reasons but it seems that it has much stronger sidewalls which
leads to better steering. If you are going to use the europa tire, my
dimensions won't work.
You will have to have the ramp and the structure manufactured if you don't
have any of it. The way it attatches to the axel I-beam needs to be very
strong and the factory trailer came with an insert to the I-beam to
stregthen it.
My scanner doesn't work so I can't email you drawings but I could draw them
and fax them. Again, my tire is larger and I had to modify the factory
trailer.
