Down to business - I may have asked before but cannot remember - a daily event: I plan on adding a B&C SD20 alternator to the 914, which is destined to receive a Woodcomp CS prop through the same driveshaft area, and wish to avoid any interference to either. Is there someone in similar circumstances who might advise me, yea or nay? How about leaving the prop governor on the top pick-up pad, and installing the alternator at the rear of the engine, like in http://contrails.free.fr/elec_second_alternateur.php ? The Europa certainly has enough room below the cowl, since the original idea came from Europa builders Jim Butcher and Jim Nelson. Season's greetings Regards, Gilles http://contrails.free.fr ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 10:15:50 AM PST US From: Graham Singleton Subject: Re: Europa-List: CS Prop plus SD20 Fergus I think Gilles idea is best, Jim Nelson did this years ago but he sold his Florida Europa. Bob Berube might help you? You could use a Nipodenso alternator, I suspect that's what B&C do anyway. may the world be gentle in 2007. From: rlborger Fellow Europaphiles: I just hung the engine. I can find no information on the nut, washer, lock washer needed to attach the electrical connection from the starter solenoid to the starter. I'd appreciate any assistance in pointing me to the appropriate page of the build or engine installation manual or other document with this information. Were they supplied with either the main kit or the engine installation kit? No doubt it they are metric bits so I won't have anything on hand in the parts bin to use. I'm sure I can order them from Lockwood or McMaster-Carr if I can get the proper specs. Any help would sure be appreciated. From: "josok" Hi Bob, In the original package was a box marked 914, and that contained amongst other goodies the nuts and washers for the starter relay. There are also some small pins and seal to connect the ignition off leads in the plug on the ignition boxes. There is also an empty (no pins) connector for the voltage regulator. Hope you find that box :-) Kind Regards, Jos Okhuijsen Visit - www.EuropaOwners.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message europa-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Europa-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/europa-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/europa-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
