You might like you see the attached built for G-IRON. Note manifold on
the left hand side. Practically this was as small as we could get the
layout.

Hello,
Your install is beautifull but...
It is necessary to remove manually the two filters frequently after each fly
because during 100 first flight hours there is some impurity's into the
filters.
Happy new year.

Alan
It should be a 914UL (non certified) as all the engines supplied by
Europa were for experimential aircraft. The certified engines were
installed in certified airplanes, the Katana is one example.
I would say its "other non road compression-ignition engine" but thats
just an assumption on my part. I do not know what customs want or need.
One other thing, here in the states, when a certified engine, such as a
Lycoming IO360 is installed in a experimential airplane then the engine
is considered "Experimential" and no longer a certified engine. by the
FAA.

Subject: Europa-List: Urgent Help with Customs Officials
Hi Guys, still trying to get our europa through customs at
Jacksonville. I am trying to finish filling in the EPA form. I have put
in the obvious stuff like date of build and serial number but I have to
choose a box to check under certified and non certified engines. Well I
think un certified is the way to go but it is a sheer guess since I do
not have any paperwork from Rotax saying it is certified. So, if I go
for uncertified is it =93other non road compression- ignition engines.
See 40CFR part 89 or parts 1039 and 1068=94 ?? This is a Rotax 914
engine. It started life in our Europa and has always been there.. I just
do not know what to list it as on the EPA form 3520-21.
I would really appreciate any help forthcoming.
Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan,
Rotax does sell certificated engines to OEMs like Diamond (Katana).
They cost many thousands more than uncertified versions (last I heard,
about $4,000) which are
otherwise mechanically identical. I personally never heard of someone
installing a certificated
Rotax in a homebuilt - very low benefit / cost ratio = essentially zero.
If you really, really have some reason to think it might be a cert.
engine, pull off the lower cowl, copy
off the serial number on the lower left side of the block and call Kodiak.
They can look it up.
Cheers,
Ira, N224XS

I made a box for 2 Andair 375s that go just behind the baggage bay ribs on
Port side.
BTW anyone with a 375, make sure you lock the in and out 4 countersunk
screws by center punching into the dimples made for this purpose.

I stole ideas for Modular Fuel System from Ian, Ferg and others.
A bit hard to tell from pic but instead of using a "T" to split the in
line, and culminate the out line, I used beautiful injection molded 316L
Stainless Barb "Y"s made by Eldon James.
The outputs of gasculators go to 1 pump and 1 one way. The output of
Modular Fuel System with the yellow cap is one of the "Y"s, the other is
used to split the incoming for the gasculators you can't see in this pic.
Wicks sells nice 90 degree barb fittings, large internal holes and
radiused edges.
The pumps and 1 ways are mounted to port baggage bay rib with 2 pump
clamps (using allen screws) and 1 long screw for the 1 ways with an
aluminium spacer.

Gentlemen,
Currently I have less than 30% of our customers current e-mail addresses.
I am attempting to update our mailing lists to see if they have any questions
re their RiteAngle IIIb Angle of Attack systems. Occasionally I get a call
from someone who purchased a system several years ago and still do not have
system installed or set-up due to various reasons.
Should you have any questions, comments, photos of system installed in your
plane, endorsements or whatever re: the RiteAngle IIIb system please send it
to this address _riteangle3@aol.com_ (mailto:riteangle3@aol.com)
Thankfully, since the IIIb system has gone into production, we have had no changes
in
the electronics, however we now have a professional written setup manual.
Sincerely
Elbie

Hi Elbie
It's nice to hear from you and that you are in production. We have moved
and having to build a shop so that has put the Europa in limbo for the last
8 months so no progress. I would like to get a setup manual. Can you mail
one and I can just send you a check.
We now live in Ellensburg WA because of a gaggle of gkids in SEA.
I hope all is well with you.
