Subject: | Filser ATR600 with Flightcom 403mc intercom |
Gents, I need help.
I am involved in a radio installation and the aircraft owner has decided
on and purchased the Filser ATR600 radio which has a built in intercom
but no provision to put in any auxiliary audio inputs such as Mark
Burtons talking ASI device so were advised that we needed a Flightcom
403mc intercom device, also purchased. The thought being that the radio
would talk to the intercom which would take care of the auxiliaries. I
have a schematic for both devices but do not have the expertise to know
pin for pin how to connecting them together.
Can anyone help, Please.

Hi Paul,
I am just wiring a Flightcom 403 to a Filser ATR 600 for some one at the
moment.
The connections according to the diagrams are:
Ptt transmit keyline pin 8 flightcom to pin 10 Filster (with shield wire
if used to Filster pin 1 or 9).
Mic transmit audio Flightcom pin 16 & 17 to Filser pin 6 (with shield to
Filser pin 5).
Receive audio Flightcom pin21 to Filser pin 14 (with shield to Filser
pin1 or 9).
You will have to deactivate the Filser vox intercom by setting the vox
level to 01.
Hope this helps.

Jeff
I would be interested in your deliberations. The course that I am
thinking of pursuing involves the front axle bolt with shims to allow
for a hooked tow bar. Andy Draper helped draw up a set of ''washers'' to
act as the shims but I have not constructed them yet. My system would
mean that the axle bolt would protrude through the nose fairing - but as
I have not fitted it yet it is not currently an issue.

Will be at Sun'n'Fun all week. See you there.

Subject: | Rotax Engine course |
Hi Everyone
Following the advise given on this forum a little while ago I attended the
Lockwood Rotax engine course in Sebring Florida last week. Let me say here
and now it's the best money I have spent in a long time. I learned so much
about the engine that I simply did not know before. I can now carry out
most light maintainance and repair tasks with confidence. I have learned
how to check if my engine is fitted with the 30 degree dog clutch and how
to check it's wear and serviceability. I am able to check the compression
and balance the carbs. I know how to strip and clean the carbs and rebuild
them with new parts if required together with a whole bunch of other
stuff. But most of all I hope I am now able to spot signs of trouble
before they become expensive problems. I really do recommend everyone
attends this course if at all possible. There is a possibility they may be
running it at Sun n fun so that would be a great place to attend. I have
no affiliation with Lockwood or anyone there, other that John Hurst who now
works for them 9it was good to catch up with him again). I just want to
pass on a great experience. see you all at sun n fun hopefully.
Cheers
alan

Europaphiles:
Alan, thanks for the reinforcement on the ATI Rotax 9xx course.
Yes, ATI will be offering the Rotax courses at Sun 'n' Fun.

And, NO, I have no affiliation with Lockwood or ATI other than being a happy customer.
Good building and great flying,

NORTH WEALD AIRFIELD
URGENT ACTION NOW PLEASE
Dear Supporter
As I am sure you are already aware, the Government's response to the EiP
(Enquiry in Public held last year when we asked everyone to make their
original representations) has been made public and we have been
analysing the report and the implications for North Weald Airfield.
Hopefully everyone who did make a representation got a CD containing a
copy of this report and inviting their response to it.
We are cautiously pleased to say that the Inspector appears to have
accepted our arguments and this is reflected in the Government's final
draft now published for consultancy.
However, it is now most important that we make sure as many responses as
possible are returned to ensure no changes are made to this final draft
that would be detrimental to the airfield.
We have drafted a template response that we believe is appropriate and
now ask everyone to make sure their responses are completed as soon as
possible as the deadline is very strictly 5pm on the 9th March. We have
tried to make it as easy as possible so all we ask you to do is the
following:-
1) Complete section A on the attached Word document
(either by filling it in from within word or printing it out and
completing manually)
2) Submit it
To Submit it please either:-
Email directly to:- rssproposedchanges@goeast.gsi.gov.uk
OR
Email it back to us at info@arrowtoolsuk.com and we will do it or you
OR
Post it Direct to:-
Regional Planning Team
Government Office for the East of England,
Eastbrook
Shaftesbury Road
Cambridge
CB2 8DF
OR
Post it to us (and we will submit it on the due date by
hand) to:-
North Weald Airfield
Users Group
C/O The Squadron
North Weald Airfield
North Weald
Epping
Essex
CM16 6AA
OR
Leave it in the collection box in THE SQUADRON at the airfield and we
will hand it in personally on the 9th March on your behalf.
As another alternative you can fill the form out online at:-
http://esurveys.gos.gov.uk/phpESP/public/survey.php?name=goeastrpt
The form is available in PDF format should anyone require it - please
just email back and I will forward it to you.
Please note that when completing the form we are advised by GO EAST that
the RESPONDENT NUMBER is not required if you do not know it or do not
want to put it down.
You do not have to have responded before so we want to get as many new
people as possible to complete these forms. Please get your
friends/neighbours/family etc. to complete one and submit it by 9th
March.
Over the past 2 years we have been so encouraged by donations and
support from so many people that it would be a shame to waste any of
this at this late stage in the campaign - so please get the response
forms in now so we can see this final part of the campaign through to
success.
The airfield thanks you once again for your continued support.
