I am forwarding this for the attention of the Brits. I know we generally run on mogas, but you might like to lend a hand to those who are not so fortunate and have to rely on avgas. Its amazing how this government (and it wouldnt matter which government it was) uses any excuse to "rob" the people that elected them and then blames someone else for the "tax" global warming/ carbon emissions - not our fault but we are going to tax you on it (and by the way, the aviation community is the biggest culprit !) fuel taxes - were going to have to charge you more because the Europeans say so - we dont want to but theres nothing we can do about it !!!!! Still the money will come in handy. And those of us who believe we are safe from these taxes because we use unleaded fuel had better watch out. After all it wouldnt be fair to tax avgas users out of existence if they didnt do the same to the rest of us. Dont be surprised if they start putting dye in mogas to make us prove we are paying the revenue what it considers it is due. I agree that we must petition the government to stop bashing the aviation community but dont be surprised if they dont listen. ----- Original Message ----- From: William Mills To: Europa Forum Sent: Saturday, February 17, 2007 11:25 AM Subject: Europa-List: Fw: plse fwd. I understood that these e-petitions needed at least 3/4 million signatures before any notice is taken; or rather before a Government response is made. Which was recently to discount the 1.5 million signatures against road pricing. 2500 so far against Mode S; fat chance of any success by this means. But I suppose it makes us fell that we are part of some great democratic process. Not.
