Paul, down into the aluminium 'U' channel taking air out of the engine compartment - allows any leak to run out clear of anything really hot (the critical consideration), and pretty much clear of bodywork. Andrew, We did it per the book and had no difficulity. Drilling the lead is easy - use a spade bit and low rpm on the drill. We probably shaped our weights wrong (made them too small) and didn't need to remove much from the port one and to balance the installed aileron trim in the stbd we had to add tungston carbide to get enough weight since the supplied weight wasn't enough and lead balls didn't add enough weight in the space avaiable. BTW, lead balls are much less dense than solid lead. Jim & Heather Butcher N241BW Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=100973#100973

Hi Jim Hope your project has gone well? Do you have the glider wings fitted yet? If so expect me in Michigan some time this year to beg a ride! I used tungsten carbide grinding dust for the weight too. I went to a local tool grinding shop and swept their grinder clean, mixed the dust with epoxy and used that. Much heavier than lead shot, probably heavier solid lead. Graham h&jeuropa wrote: > > Andrew, > > We did it per the book and had no difficulity. After spending the last two days calling around manifacturers and distributers of this two part glue I am giving in. The U.S. apparently are an Araldite-free country. I was wondering whether for a fee someone would part with his half- finished batch sitting on the shelf ? Replacement-windshield arrived today from Europa aircraft and is longing to be glued in place ... Thanks and happy building ! (it's cool to be building again - thrown back in time by ten years). <Thomas, N81EU-cabrio>

With Europa sales becoming somewhat limited in North America and storage space at a preminum, we will make these parts available at near giveaway costs Parts range from small hardware items to control surface foam cores, cockpit modules, fuel tanks, trailer and lower fuselage half. Please contact me offline or call for additional information. We are still providing builder assistance for Europa's and will continue to do so. Bob Berube Flight Crafters 5048 Airport Rd. Tom- I am going to be in the same fix myself. Mine is badly out of date and I am not sure if I can trust it. I went to Google and did a search for Araldite and the second option is Freeman Manufacturing in Akron, Ohio. It appears that they have it. Fire up your old reliable Google engine and give it a whirl! Weren't Araldite and Epibond synonymous? I was going to call these guys when the time arrived(it is in my notes): Epibond distributor in America: Krayden Industries Denver, CO 1-800-448-0406 My alternative was the ES6228 adhesive from aeropoxy You might try Graco Supply in Ft Worth. Call (817)429-0466 I think they have Epibond 420 I haven't tried the numbers yet. Let me know if they work. I think I got some of this info from matronix server. The manual does not say anything about lateral balancing of the aileron. I am guessing that I should attempt to make the inboard and outboard weights roughly equal. But I was not entirely sure about this. Since aerodynamic flutter is not something I want to fooling around with, I want to make sure I understand this correctly. Thank you for any input!
