Just and observation.
With 221 on the UK register they don't seem to come up for sale that often.
Looking back over previous years PFA mags there always seemed to be several for
sale at any one time, now I might see on every so often.
Guess owners are happy.

There are always a few unfinished kits for sale, mine included (see
http://harley.geog.ox.ac.uk/~mark/Europa/ads/), then I will look for a
finished one.
Cheers,
Mark.

Subject: Europa-List: Source for selling my Mono project?
All,
Having moved from the States with the full expectation of getting more
work done on my Europa, my travel and work schedule seems to continue to
push out work on my bird.
Can anyone suggest the best place to advertise the project here in the
UK? - my experience with this in the UK is limited!
For those who are curious it's a Monowheel XS, 800+ hours into the
build, new traditional panel instruments, vacuum pump and a new Jabiru
3300, and 500 GBP worth of primer and paint. Easily worth in excess of
30K (plus VAT), not including the 800 hrs pre-fab. I'm thinking 23K the
lot.
Thanks for the help!

Quite the contrary. I've had my Europa advertised on several airplane
websites, and in the nationally distributed "Trade-a-Plane" magazine which
is distributed to about 800,000 people at Sun N'Fun. Not a single telephone
call of inquiry. The plane can be seen at Sun N'Fun all week long.

District Council have served an enforcement notice to try and stop general
aviation at Kemble Airfield - a site which has been an aerodrome for nigh on
70 years, and which enjoys the support of over 80% of the local community
(according to Kemble & Ewen Parish Council survey 2006). The council seem to
have been inspired to do this thanks to the complaints of a few vocal
individuals - so we need to show them the level of support the airfield has
locally, nationally and perhaps even internationally.

in place to ensure that the local residents are not too affected by the
airfield. It is also a fantastic uncultivated green space, with lots of
wildlife, trees, hedges etc. You can regularly see hares dashing around.
There are no plans to turn Kemble into an airport like Bristol or
Birmingham. The enforcement notice threatens many jobs and businesses on the
airfield - it seems bizarre that the local council would want to damage the
economy in it's own area. This isn't just about rich boys flying their
private planes - Kemble Airfield is a thriving community of people from all
walks of life, many of whom are involved in the aviation side of things
through a sheer passion for flying. For example, one business on the
airfield is not run for profit, but instead ploughs all it makes back into
the charity side of their business, to enable them to take disadvantaged and
disabled kids flying.

You can find out more information about Kemble at www.kemble.com, or if you
live locally why not visit the airfield to see just how great it is - it's a
lovely way to spend a sunny Saturday.

I can't quite remember who requested pics of monowheel down latch spring.
Whoever it was here are a few shots.
Note I liked the way the stop nut held the end of the spring if installed
backwards.

Hi! David.
I have signed up to your petition and forwarded it on to a number of
likely contributors. The link from your e-mail didn't work BTW. But I
Googled it direct.
I am still awaiting a decision and the MRI scan report on the cancer
front. I have a meeting with the Head of Department on Monday at 13.30.
I have also written a strong letter to the CE of the Yorks and East
Riding NHS Trust advising him that I consider he has wasted the two
months head start I gave them since first writing to my GP on January
4th !
Regards
Bob .

Subject: | More EFIS Thoughts |
Hi Folks,
Many thanks to those who sent me photos of their EFIS panels, the Grand
Rapids Sport seems to be very popular.
Of course Dynon has just announced new firmware which really smartens up
their display. I'm still a ways off deciding which one to go for.
In redesigning the panel I promised myself a better way of hooking up those
connections such that the panel can easily be removed. I have something like 5
connectors which all have to be connected blind while balancing the panel on
the center tunnel when putting the panel back.
What have others done to take wiring from one side of the firewall to the
other?
I would like to use something like one of those 25 pin electrical connectors
that all the wires run to. This way I just have connect one big connector and
I would position it such that connecting will be easier. The highest rated
wire is the negative from the battery through to the panel, its 10 swg. Would a
25 pin connector be able to support the load?
Any comments on what others have done would be appreciated. I would be
particularly interested in the magneto wires and shielding.

What have others done to take wiring from one side of the firewall to
the other?<
All my flying instruments are mounted on a subpanel. When this is
removed its electrical items are easily unplugged and quick disconnects
are used for the pitot-statics. This then provides a large whole in the
panel to work through. I have 3 main firewall connectors which are
mounted behind the shorter flight instruments. One for high power
including earth connection, one for engine mounted wiring and one for
airframe mounted wiring. By keeping the engine wiring separate the
socket and the complete loom can be removed with the engine when the
engine needs removal. I also have a pair of plug/socket connectors
mounted parallel to the firewall which are also easily reached for all
airframe connections aft of the firewall. My whole panel can be removed
or refitted in 20 minutes.

I would suggest you use a separate higher power multipin socket like I
did. As mine was a 3 pin I used the extra pin to provide a separate
backup feed through another fuse so that essential services can select
an alternate routeing of power should the main panel fuse blow.
>Any comments on what others have done would be appreciated. I would be

I just used a/c quality coaxial cable for these. The shields were
connected to earth at the panel end keeping the live inner cores
shielded until they are grounded for engine stopping.
