The 3-pole reverse-unreverse switch now operates a relay, that changes the mode. This latched and warning labeled switch is IMHO security enough against accidental operation. Do you have to wait for full reverse before opening the throttle? Should i think about an indicator light that indicates the reverse end stop reached? A micro switch on the throttle box to break the circuit will do the job. Fred ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 11:22:40 AM PST US From: Andrew Sarangan Subject: Europa-List: W18 plate alignment problem While fitting the outrigger assembly to the outboard double-W18 plates in the wing, I discovered that the fit was not very snug. It appears that I might not have clamped the plates properly when I bonded the W18's into the wing long time ago. The plates are not perfectly parallel; the leading edge of the W18's are fine, but the trailing edge is 1-2mm wider than necessary. If I bolt the outrigger assembly this way, it may pull the W18 plates inwards and cause undue stress. The thought of removing one of the W18 plates with a heat gun and re-bonding did cross my mind, but that seems a bit extreme. Is there anything wrong with shimming the gap with some aluminum sheets? Any advice would be appreciated. ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 12:49:31 PM PST US From: Andrew Sarangan Subject: Europa-List: TV crew came into my Europa workshop The local TV station wanted to do an interview in my Europa workshop. But they did show my Europa kit for s good 5 seconds. I can't quite tell what the last transmission was. Can anyone tell, or have more info, other than what is on the FAA report? Nice job, Andrew. Maybe they'll be back, when they need a report about experimental aircraft.
