This appears to be a result of the TS05 link rod cocking upon removal and jamming the drive pins in the TS06 bushes (which are a lovely fit) which results in a racking load jamming the drive pins. Obviously we have to do this again (irritating as the originals exhibited no such symptoms), but I must know if anyone else has experienced this, and what the solution might be. Stationing a second person at the tail to ensure the link rod does not deviate from perpendicular to the drive pins while the tailplanes are being pulled is obvious but a bit labor intensive. I have the larger pins as Mod 58 but haven't done the install yet as there has been no visible cracking on the original pins. Somehow Mod 58 disappeared from the Europa 2004 mod list. I wonder if they decided it was unnecessary or if was just an accidental deletion. Thanks, Paul ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 09:33:15 PM PST US From: "Kingsley Hurst" Subject: RE: Europa-List: Trim Tab drive pins Creighton Do you have a couple of pieces of plywood (or similar) inside the rear of the fuse just ahead of the "T" bar slot to limit the sideways movement of the "T" bar on assembly and disassembly of the tailplanes ? The two guides should have minimum gap between them but still be wide enough to allow full and free movement of the 'T' bar throughout full deflection of the tailplanes. I don't remember this ever being a mod but was certainly a recommended suggestion. I'm sure it will save your having to employ a second person as you suggested below.
